Very true. I just find it hard to believe sometimes how a person can wrap their brain around advocating using scissors against an active shooter, and yet in the same breath tell you you're some kind of sociopath because you advocate carrying of firearms by responsible law abiding citizens. It's like the very definition of insanity to me.

Well, it's all black, holds more than ten rounds and is generally scary to a certain segment of the population.

Oh, wait, that's an AR, not a knife! ;)

One day, pre 9/11, I was flying out of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The guy ahead of me at the security check, an engineer of some kind, was carrying a small case, full of tools and meters packed in neat, foam cut-outs. The security guys were insisting that it had to be checked in whilst he was :censored:-scared of losing the tools of his trade. He was doubly annoyed when he saw my SAK in the tray pass by without any challenge.

Point taken. That goes with what I was saying though: what I carry depends on the context. If I'm around people that will worry, I try to put them at ease because I'm a responsible knife owner and user. If I'm in a place where they are banned entirely, I might gripe about it on the forums and think it's a little silly, but I'll still follow the rules. Again, it's part of being responsible with what you have and what you use.

Wow I've really stirred it up. Guys it all comes down to self entitlement. People feel they should be able to dictate another's rights based on their comfort level. Also, one reason a lot of these people try to take our guns and knives is because they want to be able to say or do anything they want without fear. -It's liberal mindset. Robert A Heinlein said "an armed society is a polite society. People act differently when they must backup their actions with their life. "

Does that knife have a shoulder thingy that goes up? If so, it's probably a high powered assault knife...

Exactly. A knife. AKA cardboard knife.

Edit to add: Also, it was a rhetorical question. Food for thought.

I'll leave you all with this quote...

    "Virtually nothing, is 'only' anything."

In my country it is, right now as the law is you can be fined 500usd for keeping a vic classic in your home. This can mean you will be without a job for 3 years after the sentence

    Kitchen knives are ok btw.

I'm surprised that this thread is still going strong. I had to graciously bow out of commenting to avoid breaking house rules about carrying legality especially since I reside in NYC. But I have to say if the news( as bias and one sided as it is) is showing that the No Gun Zones and No Weapon Zones are Free Range Target Practice Zones for those that wish to do harm, any politician that supports those laws banning guns and knives should be denied any armed protection for them and their families. Fair is fair.

To quote one said politician: "...when everyone gets their fair shot, does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules."

Wow, I thank a God for our constitution. If it keeps going as-is we'll be right there with you.

What you see in this picture is a wine opener. If you look closer you will see a tiny tiny folding knife blade ment for removing the foil at the bottle neck.
This is also a dangerous weapon in Denmark and if kept in your kitchen or possession will also get you a 500usd fine.

We have a more or less complete ban on anything with a sharp edge in public and in your home.

The parlament said they made the law by mistake a few years back but it has not been changed yet.

Even on Ems duty i cannot carry a folding knife (not even a vic classic). A police officer can carry a gun and baton, but not a swizz army knife.

If you ever feel bad about obama, think about Denmark ;)

    Wait...what?

So ... Kitchen knives are fine, which makes sense. You need them to cook. But any other sharpened object means you get a fine and can't work for 3 years????

    What?

No offense, but I don't think I'll be going to Denmark any time soon.
