I foolishly titled my first post 'Here we go', which doesn't help anyone. So I will start again and post a pic of the EDC I started with. A new one will appear soon but I have to go shopping (for non-EDC stuff unfortunately :(). So please forgive the re-post but it will be interesting to look back on the evolution in one place.

    So it began:--

Yep, an emergency charger, also a turboflame (with an elastic band 'safety'.. no one needs 1300C in their pocket), Stanley Multi Tool, Lighthouse CREE torch, Stanley Sports knife, wallet, and key ring with coin and note stash. And a shopping trolley token.. vital for supplies in an emergency!

The knife is cheap but sharp, the Multitool seems satisfactory, the Lighthouse torch/flashlight is a surprise: good build quality, low-high-strobe, and the zoom option lights a house number from the kerb. And it's 140 lumens. Seems to good to be true for £12!

I'll wager that your wallet will get thinner and thinner the more you hang out here (I'm still one of the new kids on the block around here and have found waaay too much stuff that I "need" that I didn't even know existed!).

Yes to the thinner wallet. I seem to have more stuff around since I got here!

So I said this out loud today ... " I think I have too many bags". My wife thought I was seriously ill and the dogs kept away from me for a while. What I meant to say was "I have too many bags in use at once, I need to rationalise my load". Everything calmed down after I explained myself (although the dogs still aren't sure). So below is a collection of some of my bags/pouches. Some have been bought from charity shops (I think that could be "thrift shops" in US?), some on sale, some are just pencil cases.

L to R, Top to Bottom.
    • Boundtree Response Jr (my own trauma scissors and artery clip (for making lanyards, not clipping arteries although....). Fits in one of the mag pouches in my MOAB 6.
    • Pencil case with 3 sections
    • Pencil case with 1 section
    • Black mesh pencil case with orange zip pull (there's a lining to stop pointy things sticking though),
    • red hard drive carry case (on sale in ComputerWorld).
    • Lowe Alpine recycled bag (lrg),
    • Lowe Recycled bag(small),
    • black mobile pouch (cheapo cheapo Ltd)

The red one will be used as a small FAK. The black mesh I bought because my MOAB 6 has 2 pockets for magazines in the Admin section (scary what some people have to face whilst doing Admin I guess), and as I am unlikely to use an Automatic Rifle they are difficult to use (pockets are long and thing). Enter the mesh pencil case: it fits in the magazine pouch and I can pull it out with the lanyard for extra usable space. The other pencil cases carry cables, wires and, surprisingly, pens and pencils.

    Oh, and some more:-

Karrimor Wash bag (used for washing when I remember), The orange travel soap dish has my fire lighting gear in it, the toothbrush holder has a Lamy Safari and an F701 in it. And thanks to the forum person that suggested the cord and cordclip closing method. I tried to look for the relevant post so I could credit the person but I failed, so if you make yourself known you can bask in the reflected glory of my masterful realizatiob of your idea. :)

I'd love some purpose built pouches, but until then I think "re-purposing" these kinds of finds is the best thing to do.

Look what the nice postman brought me today
    [IMG]

And with the new key chain, True Utility, well made and a really cheap way of getting small clips!

But now find it's all a bit heavy and the Navy is a bit too long. I now understand the problem. It's never quite right is it! A rethink is in order.

Put this in the Watches thread but figured I'd record it here as well. Swapped my strap for a Nato today.
