Definitely, but at least after Christmas, maybe the dollar will have rebounded a bit by then

    I really do hope so.

There's plenty of others to buy between now and then.

Anyone know of some good flippers to get? Most of the Kershaws I would like are assisted :(

Spyderco makes some nice ones also ZT's are good. Both are more expensive than Kershaws.

Buck makes some reasonably priced ones.

    No worries.

Some of the US knife retailer sites allow you to search specifically for flippers.

Flippers are my thing! (I can't work thumbstuds). I just got the Kershaw Skyline. Spyderco doesn't have many, I think the Southard is a flipper. CRKT has a few, their M16/M21 series and GSD. ZT has the 0450 and I think 0390. The Buck Vantage line looks nice too.

Does anyone know if there is an unassisted Cryo on the US market? Without the assisting it'd be totally legal here now....

Possibly sourcing it from a fellow forum member who could deassist these models for us?

I would love a Link and a Thermite, but I'm probably going to grab a Positron regardless.

The problem would still be if Customs decides to inspect the knife and checks the model number. Not likely to happen but still.

Even if its de-assisted whose to say the person receiving the knife won't re-install the assist mechanism.

It may be worth a try if you are willing to cop a whack from Customs if caught and have your knife seized.

Also Boker Urban Trapper and Kwaiken. Most flippers are assisted, and of those that aren't, most are on bearings. I don't think they sell an unassisted Cryo, as it probably wouldn't flip fully open without modifying the pivot. Oh and I like the Sanrenmu 7089.

    Me too!!

And this time of the year my family has adopted the practice of giving various amounts of money in an envelope so that we can put it towards the gifts we really want.

I can't afford an EDCF Manix under normal circumstances.

But after xmas I'm almost sure I'll be able to afford one. :bounce:

You are most welcome. Also thanks to fellow Aussie members (you know who youse are :)) for providing information about the change in import regulations.
I don't think AussieMark909 (YT handle) is an edcf member. He has some cKc knives and I share his interest there with some of my own. That's how I came across his YT channel.
