So as this round comes to a successful end, the boxes will be shipped back to me, and ill start a new round going in the opposite direction (qld, nt, WA, sa, vic, tas then back to qld). The general consensus is to wait until the new year (maybe after school holidays are finished?) before starting a new round, but put in your thoughts of doing so. I'll take out a lot of the repeats and put some new interesting things related to edc into the box to keep it fresh. It will more than likely stay at 2 boxes, ill keep them small as well to reduce shipping costs (the current size they are is probably how they will stay). I'll start a new thread closer to December.
Thanks to everyone who has made this happen so far! Unagi42 Cheeser masofnos I am all for the suggestions so far masofnos. IE: waiting a while, reverse of direction and thinning out. Whilst considering the issue of the bulk and quantity, a thought was to maybe hold a GAW amongst the current PAB participants or with the wider community with the surplus repeat gear. Merely a suggestion
Yeah me unagi and masofnos have talked about this and a couple of other ideas which should come to fruition soon
G'day fellow Stralians. I've been following the Aussie pass a round box threads since they started and always wished I could join in, but due to my current unemployment status I simply don't have enough disposable income. Anyway several weeks ago Unagi42 PM'd me asking for my address. It was kinda out of the blue and I was a little concerned why anyone would want my address... Anyway he assured me there was nothing sinister, and as I have a reasonable amount of trust for the good members of the great EDC forum I surrendered it to him. Been a while since I've been online here until yesterday when I arrived home from a few days away and found a package waiting for me. It was addressed from "Sam" in QLD and upon opening it I was reeeeally excited to find some fantastic and very useful items. (See pic) I'm feeling a little bit embarrassed that I've been sent such a wonderful and extremely appreciated gift from fellow Aussies who I've only met online. Every item (bar one) in the package will be put to good use and is incredibly appreciated!! I say "bar one" only because I don't exactly know what the little yellow fold open thingy is. It feels kinda like a big nail file, but I don't really know it's true purpose ?? The Otter Box is EXACTLY the right size and was something I had on my future shopping list. Just perfect!! I absolutely love Opinel knives, and this beautiful little number 5 is simply perfect for my pocket. I'm Love It!! The locking OHO black folder with HK (?) on it is absolutely perfect for clipping in my jeans pocket without being bulky. And having the dual blade, serrated and plain, is a bonus. And it's a beautiful bit of kit to hold and look at as well! The Gerber Dime fills the gap perfectly that I had intended buying a Leatherman Squirt for. So Soo happy to have this little multi tool! The little Vic Classic has instantly found a permanent home in my maxped wallet. Blade, file, scissors, small screwdriver, tweezers, and toothpick. PERFECT!! Last but not least is the divers torch. WOW! I loaded it with one of my 18650 batteries and it now lives on the mantle piece in my home as a backup light when the power goes out, which happens a bit too often out here in rural Victoria, and is soo easy to operate that my wife and daughters will have no trouble using it in a blackout situation! I can't thank You blokes enough for these wonderfully useful gifts! Your generosity has left me feeling a bit self conscious in that I haven't contributed a single thing to the Aussie pass a round boxes. I reeeeally hope I can repay Your generosity in the near future. I'd also Love to thank every one of you who contributed to this wonderful gift personally. Please come forward, at least privately. Cheers and Beers You blokes Rock!!
Thanks or the generosity of everyone involved in the Passaround for these items pictured above. Thanks to the thoughtfulness of a few sharing this fun with Bloke (you know who you are)
Here here ... fantastic ... Kudos to all those that contributed and arranged. All the best to Bloke for safe, enjoyable and useful edc.
AKA if you cut yourself we didn't give you the knives. ..Better yet we're just clever Internet algorithms.
