I've been carrying a Skeletool CX for a few years now. In fact I have 2 of them as I lost one for a week and couldn't stand not having it, but then found it after buying a new one/

I'm wondering if there's anything newer/better on the market? Must be a pocket clip, one hand opening blade, pliers, and a Philips bit.

The skeletool is my favorite for EDC so far, but it's still a bit heavy and I tend to lose bits. One my CX's quit holding bits as the release lever is stuck down and doesn't spring back, even after cleaning it.

I don't think there's anything better that does what the Skeletool does.

As for your issues you should contact Leatherman either through their website or through a retailer, they have a pretty good warranty.

You can get a clip for the wave. It's a good bit heavier, but a good bit more versatile. I've got mine on my surge tight now, but it just slides in the end. [IMG]

    Me too.

I have never warmed to the Skeletool really though I keep trying it just is not a good tool for me and feels bad in hand all the time.
The light weight is not enough to overcome its problems for me to work with it.

So to speak to the O.P. directly for me almost anything is better.
