For those using these mags, how have they performed for you? Trust them for everyday carry? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe that for them to work correctly and effectively the magazine catch also needs to be changed out to a mets, one. Because of this I shyed from utilizing the magazines and for the cost I just bought a couple extra factory Glock 43X magazines.
I've been using Shield Arms magazines for quite some time. They worked flawlessly in my G43x. The earlier generation rattled a little when fully loaded, but other than that they were gtg. I have since gotten a later version that has eliminated the rattle, although like the earlier version, the last few rounds are a little tough to load. The magazine release does need to be replaced by a metal version as the factory release is plastic and would over time be sheared off since it makes contact with the Shield Arms metal mag body vs Glocks plastic body. I like the fact that my 43x now holds just as many rounds (15) as my G19 but in a smaller package.
My experience mirrors Patrick's. Reliable but as mentioned, rattles a little. The one issue I had was with the finish on 3 magazines that I had loaned to someone during a training class. No idea what happened but I had issues with the finish showing rust pitting.
I got rid of my 43x prior to the S15 being available but I have two friends both firearms instructors so they do shoot daily and both said they do need the metal mag release as the shield arms mag chews up the plastic release and if you go metal mag release then watch the polymer mags for the opposite wear from the metal mag release on the polymer body.
