I picked one of these up for £1 from a bargin skip out side a local surplus store. Filthy dirty but in one piece, will stick it in the washing machine when the OH is not around.

Does anyone recognise it as any commerical pack that has be used as an issue one, it does have an NSN number.

I looks very similar to the Flyye Tactical AIII Backpack. The clips/slides are in an identical position to the Flyye one

A bit more digging on the NSN and it has come up as a Dutch issue pack.

I believe that is a 3 day assault pack. Apparently a number of companies were contracted to make this bag

I'm curious about the spacing of the stitching on the PALS webbing on front. I wonder if the wide channel on the front is specifically for something.

It is quite similar ( not quite identical ) to the Blackhawk ultra light 3 day pack

It's the style of an a-iii made by eagle industries... if it has an NSN, it's likely that.

Probably my favorite bag of all time. I regret selling mine to this day.

    Fantastic deal

Sorry Essex. Anything they can’t sell retail for one reason of another goes in the bargain bins. I have had 100l DPM longback Bergen’s, DPM daysacks, mosquito nets with ground sheets, a karrimor Condor 80-100 rucksack with just a couple of buckles missing, all at a £1 each.
I pop in every Saturday morning for a dig around

I did not think the wash had made any difference at first, until I looked at the before and after pictures I took. Certainly smells better now as well.

It will need a new main pocket zip and I will probably get some 50mm loop material to replace the current loop and to cover up the name as well.

That's a very well worn well used bag, its probably been places. Zuidema is a fairly common dutch sirname so that confirms that.

I was amazed it was physically still in one piece and complete. The surplus store proably put it in thier cheap bin becuas eof the main zip and how dirty it was.
I have managed to save the main zip, I just tightened the jaws of the pulls and it is working fine now.

Cool, do keep in mind that bending back a zipper like that is usually a one-time deal and it might break the next time it sees rough handling. It is actually possible to put a new pull cart thingy on an existing zipper if you can find the exact same type and size by 'threading' it on the existing zipper from the closed side (ive done this more than once).

Just popped into this place again, was a bit disappointed to find someone had bought both 1m sq bins full of their £1 bits. Until I looked in at the few bits in the bottom of the single bin there and found this. I think it is a Camelbak maximum Gear ambush 3L. It’s also good as you could not get to the bottom of the old bins easily, so they needed a bit of a spring clean.

The bladder looks brand new, I will give it a wash next week and see how it comes up. I far as I can tell it’s only missing the mouth piece, will make a good small back pack, got a couple of external zip pockets.
