got these stones in the mail today, i also made a draw-string bag to hold them so they dont slip out of my pocket and get lost again. ive also bought some 9/16" ball bearings and they are very satisfying to click together. @dictatortot Two fire opalite, one blue goldstone, and a moss agate worry stone.
I made a few spinners with 608 skateboard bearings with inspiration from this thread: Anyone Have a Cool 'Fidget' Toy? http://edcforums.com/index.php?threads/Anyone-Have-a-Cool-%27Fidget%27-Toy%3F.130495/ I sanded the last 2 I made to 400 grit polish which makes the flat sections similar to a worry stone.
Thanks! The rings around the bearings are 3/4" i.d. steel pipe cut to 1/4" length. It takes just a small amount of filing with a half round file to get the bearings to fit. Then I weld 1/4" steel bar stock tabs to the pipe. I did all my flattening and shaping on the one shown with a file. It came out much better than the others I finished with a 4" grinder and 100 grit flapper wheel. Then I just sand smooth with 60, 120, 220, and 400 grit sandpaper.
