I pledged for a Shaker as well, I went for the red aluminum for my wife and Titanium for myself.
Is the point retractable?
Can it take a space pen refill?
I normally EDC a modded Zebra 701. I picked up this Safari ballpoint just for kicks and giggles. Like it. It doesn't right on every surface like the Space pen refill in my 701, but it's sure easy to find in a pocket dump !
A couple of months ago I got my TWSBI Micarta V2 Clipless and a few days later my Visconti Homosapiens Bronze Oversize arrived. I swore off pen purchases and have neglected all my other pens ever since. The Visconti sporting blue inks and being used for everything, and the TWSBI filled with J. Herbin - Lie de Thé and being my pocket pen.
Tonight I had a fair bit of whisky and spent an hour tossing up between a Waterman Carene (burgundy) and a Pilot Capless Carbonessque blue as I had some extra dough and wanted something different in my collection. I then forsook both as I found a Pilot Capless deep blue for half the market price.
It's on it's way
Just ordered a 5-pack of Mont Blanc Fineliner refills for the Prometheus...
Hey microbe, what refills does the Tool Pen take? I found it on Amazon but it doesn't say.
Just ordered a Waterman Hemisphere ball point in SS.
I've ordered the Staedtler Lumograph, Hi-Uni, and Tombow Mono 100 pencils in HB and 2B. I figure if I don't find a pencil that I love to use in that lot, I'll give up on my brief foray into woodcase pencils and go back to my drafting pencils and lead holders.
Just recieved a retro 51 hex, the apparent knock off of the storied rotring. Amazing writer, great balance, good heft for 28 bucks US.
Actually like it better than my karas retract.
Got my custom anodized Ti Mathew Martin yesterday.
It takes a standard D1 refill. I have the Tool Pen in red. It's a very nice pen. Definitely a conversation Starter.
I just got my Shaker. I think it's the best balanced and smoothest pen I've ever used. It's my standard desk pen. I use a Monteverde Tool Pen for EDC.
I've got one as well but it feels odd in my hand so don't use it much..
Where did you find Pilot Vpens with a Fine nib??
All I can find are Medium nibs.
There's actually very little difference that I can see between the F and M nibbed varsities. I was hoping for a narrower line from the F nibs.
Picked up a Fisher Space Pen yesterday with a stylest. I guess some space pens come with a pocket clip and others don't as crushing the forums last night I noticed some people with the similer style pen had pocket clips.....?
Are these sold separately from Fisher? These pens looks easy to lose and with out a pocket clip I see myself losing this pretty quickly lol.
The clips are available seperately, but they are just pressure/friction fit. In many cases, they tend to be the reason for lost pens.
My Bullet is in a thigh pocket, and I have had no problems with losing it. The previous one was lost while it was clipped to my shirt (Henley).
That's where I keep mine, and I haven't lost it yet.
Actually find I it rides really well in my front pocket. Cant even feel it there, doesn't move around and fits nicely at th bottom of the pocket flat. So it doesn't shift while laying down or when sitting.
Really liking this pen so far, Compact when stored dule purpose pen & stylest (works good with mini glove on at work) smooth writing. Although i can only compare to a cheap BIC pen.
So far so good!
I just ordered a box of Palomino Blackwing 602 pencils and a box of Palomino drawing pencils (mixed hardnesses).
It's mostly an experiment. If I could have purchased single pencils, I would have.
