Just watching a YouTube video and seen one briefly appear, although I hate the locking mechanism it does look very nice.[br]Chinese steel not awesome but the price £55 it's to be expected. I'm very tempted by it, the pocket clip set up is interesting and it has pivot bearings too.

I like it but I can only speak about the grooved version with Sandvik steel.
If you know the Kershaw Leek you should know about the blade, not the same but nearly same pointy tip.
It swings out very nicely with the flipper and the clip is working very well with soft pant's pockets, but it feels uncomfortable in jeans.
In my opinion the handle should be milled out from the inside to redice weight, this way it's just way too heavy for it's size.

Here's my stonewashed version. I also stonewashed the clip, it's scratching way too easy. From the inner areas I guess it's a sintered powder steel with a low hardness. The handle didn't change its look with stonewashing but it's a bit grippier.

But seriously 55 squids? You should get the plain handled one for around $40, the grooved for $50 on the fleabay.

That's awesome, thanks adahn! I've found it cheaper now at £37 that's including shipping from the US. At that price I need to pull the trigger I think!

Grooved or plain? If I had to buy it again I'd maybe get the plain one and hope it's a bit lighter than the other one ;)

Go for the grooved, I have the regular (it's my desk knife) and while I like everything about it, the steel doesn't stay sharp very long at all.

Me too! I don't like the look of the grooved and am fed up stropping up the plain every time its used. Of course you could save up a bit (as I'm doing) and buy the Kizer Gemini I'm thinking of replacing mine with. :D

I have the smooth handled version. It carries like a classifier version of the Leek. The clip is interesting, but only really use it if I'm wearing pants with a coin/fifth pocket. As others have mentioned, the blade steel isn't great, but its not trash either. Just needs frequent touch-up on a strop. If they released a titanium version with nice blade steel, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I thought the same. Then I got another bill from the letter box. But a Swindle with hollowed Ti slabs and some SxxVx steel would be nice :)

I don't think that CRKT have ever done premium materials though have they?

    Not afaik.
And if they would they would have to make a seperate line without their name on it, like Lexus did for Toyota to get into the premium section...

Yes, but did anything follow after that

And in the knife world it feels like buying a $50 Sanrenmu knife, they made the "Real Steel" series for that market.

The Ontario RAT 1 was planned with an MSRP around $100y you can get it for fair $30.

If CRKT wants to sell $100+ knives they must sell them under a new brand or at least do something like "Emerson design made by Kershaw" maybe with a good name in custom knives like Shirogorov or Sinkevich...
