Apple watch series 3. I've gotten so used to it I get annoyed when I leave it at home. Keeps me from pulling my phone out of my pocket the majority of the day. Biggest complaint is it will only hold a charge for a couple of days. For travelling I bought a small adapter that plugs onto the end of a lightening cable so I don't have to bring a lot of extra cables. For long backpacking trips I switch it into low power mode which is good for longer than I've ever needed it.

I used a beat-up Pebble Time with a leather strap from Amazon. The whole package set me back less than $40.

I like the "Timely" watch face for the Pebble.

@bub: That watch ^^ would be bulkier than I'd wear. But I dig the colors! :)

Just picked up an Apple Watch series 3 Saturday. All I have to say is what took me so long?! It is so handy when I’m at work and don’t feel like grabbing for my phone. I’ve worn a gshock for years and from now on I’ll be wearing this. [IMG]

I refuse to buy a watch that gets outdated in a year or two.
Plus I've heard from friends and family that theres issues with charging after some time.

    Classic watches stay classics.

However they are neat and are getting better all the time. Still...

I have a 44mm series 4 that I use at work everyday. On the weekends it’s my Marathon JDD. I didn’t buy it to tell time. It’s tech that has useful features that just so happens to wear on my wrist.

Me too which is why I have the Apple watch.
They are just computers and can easily be updated all the time.

I would prefer if they made them without a usb type charge. Give them batteries like old casios that last forever.

Charge ports are weak and break down quickly.

Apple has no charge ports anyway just a Magnetic Coupling.
Could not be any more simple.
On the other hand they can not make them powerful AND get good battery life,at least not yet.

Just not Apples to Apples,no pun intended.
You get so much more than a Watch that the Watch is just one feature, maybe if you tried one you would understand better?
Then again they are not for everyone any more than any of the other stuff we talk about here is.

I really like my smart watch, a Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro. It allows me to leave my phone on my desk and still receive notifications. I used it last week to check my calendar while on a call to ensure I didn't double book myself. I wear mine on my right wrist and a traditional mechanical watch on my left.

I've seen several people who do something like this -- wear a 'traditional' watch on one wrist and a 'smart' watch or fitness wearable (e.g. Fitbit) on the other. Sorta makes me think of a pendulum swinging back so that the second wearable having a time function is not necessary.

Especially for the functions of keeping track of a calendar etc., just need the second device to do that without a timekeeping function. Almost like a wearable pager. Zounds! Back to the future I say! :)

Same pendulum as we see in the world of computers. When mini computers and the Apple II etc came out, they were touted as freeing up the masses from centralized computing. Along comes the Internet, then the 'cloud' and whadya know? We're back to the future there also! OMG!

I'm guilty of what Moshe ben David describes - I wear an Apple watch on my left wrist and a Fitbit Charge 2 on my right. I still wear the Fitbit because its companion app (iOS) is near perfect, IMO and I find its UI much better than the Apple concentric rings, which annoy the heck out of me for some reason. The Fitbit's display is clear, concise and I have near 5 years worth of data in my account. A funny consequence of wearing both devices is that when I receive an iMessage/SMS, both devices vibrate. Sometimes the Fitbit buzzes first, and other times it's the Apple watch.

An unintended consequence is that, since I have the Apple watch, I rarely wear any of my other watches, including a Breitling that my wife gave to me.
