I EDC a Split Pea Lighter... Used it mainly for heating up the ends of cut paracord so far :)

    Cheers

I carry one on every camping trip and whenever I am teaching knotwork to my scouts. Haven't smoked in 20 years But I never got rid of my old Zippo. They are just too damm useful.

I've had problems with Zippos drying out from infrequent use so I EDC a bic lighter. They last a long time with infrequent use and are very cheap. I use them anywhere from a couple of times a day to a few times a week. Always one in my pocket.

zippos are nice, but i prefer a jet torch lighter, will light up anything in an instant and hard to blow out even on a windy day unlike matches

I do. Been a smoker for a long time but quit a couple of years ago (still enjoys a good cigar or pipe if the moment presents itself). Can't go without a lighter though. It is still a natural extension of myself.

I don't smoke but I always have a lighter on me. I rarely ever have the need to use it but I still carry one. As Myke Hawke says, "everyone should always have a lighter on them."

As I said in my post: I quit a couple of years ago. But if someone hands me a cigar, I can light it myself :)

I've never smoked, but I've carried a lighter since I read "Lord of the Flies".

I could have carried a pig's head on a stick, but I figured a lighter was more practical. ;)

nonsmoker, but carry some sort of lighter pretty much everyday (butane, zippo, or a bic). Use for paracord ends, fireworks, zippo tricks, etc.

Like the others, I don't smoke, but I do carry a lighter (Split Pea). I rarely use it, but it is nice to have the ability to light something if I want to. The Split Pea is so small you don't even notice it. It fact I'm always afraid I've lost it. I tried Zippos in the past, because I really like them, but because I used them so infrequently it seemed that they would dry up, and rarely worked when I did need them. The Split Pea by contrast was filled last September, and it still appears to be full.

This is my $7 Colibri Firebird butane jet lighter that I have been carrying every day since fall of 2007. It lights on the first try every time, is quite efficient with the amount of butane it uses, burns HOT, and will consistently burn even the cheap Ronson fuel I have been filling it up with for 3 years.

I use this thing all the time, especially because I use a lot of cordura and 550 cord in my projects.

I do. There's melting paracord tips, which is always helpful when Im bored and making a lanyard or bracelet. But there's also those time when someone else may need a lighter, and if it's a future employer or maybe your fiancé or girlfriend's dad, it can leave a good taste in someone's mouth.
