Hey man. I’m not sure where you heard that but I think you’re mistaking the 1050D ballistic nylon for the 1000D nylon. The former has a smoother surface and it is a heavier and stiffer fabric. The 500D will hold its own, it’s a very durable fabric as long as you don’t plan to drag them across gravel! Another thing to keep in mind is pet hair. I’m working at the factory this weekend and our crazy Dalmatian likes to rub against the bags he finds sitting on the floor! At the end of the day the 500D and 1000D will have his short hair everywhere but not the 1050D nor the 420D Diamond ripstop.
