Your work is a thing of beauty. I love your scales, the finish looks so nice.

Yes the blades are from a Serrated Spartan and I used an opener layer spring which is 0.2mm to thin so I used some shims I cut out of 0.1mm aluminium. Also the spring needs to be modified so the blades rest in the right position when closed.

These pics show the spring modification and the shims on the middle pivot, which are only on one side so the spring is held up against the side of the small blade.
The blade rest pieces on the spring are glued on with super strength two part epoxy, and to my surprise they have stayed on even after opening and closing both blades 50+ times.
Hope this is helpful to anyone keen to try a little modding for them selves.
I know that this forum and peoples threads like Syph007s have been very inspiring and helpful to me.;)

They would only have to make a new spring. But they seem to be making less Alox models now. I have only had the POX about 7 months and I think that the Alox models they sell now is the smallest selection they have ever had, I would love to hear what people with a lot more experience with SAKs think about this.

The first time I looked at this picture, I thought you had made some clear scales. What would be neat is to have a "window" cut out on the scale to see the internals move when opening a tool. A steampunk Vic ALOX!:D

Are you just tapping the scales to hold the clip, or are those screws backed?

You aren't the only one. Picked myself up my first Alox, a silver cadet, but then decided to gift it to my dad for father's day before I took it out of the box since he gave me my first SAK when I was in scouts. My local hardware store hasn't gotten another one back in for me to get one for myself yet.

I'll eventually re-get my first Alox... Someday.
