OK, Well, figured its time I posted my stuff again, since the pics in my last gear thread died with my old website, and I've done a lot of swapping and experimenting the lats couple months, and this year in general.

    So, what I'd been carrying for about 4 years(except the razor knife, only 2 years with it) till last fall, well tested and what I considered the perfect carry;

    Fenix L2D Rebel100
    Vic Spirit
    Case SS Peanut
    stock chrome Zippo
    Kobalt lock back razor knife
Alaska Mint Silver/Gold buffalo coin Money clip
    Pantech C520

Last fall I swapped to a new light, a Jetbeam BC10 for a smaller package with more output. I also got my citizen EcoDrive late last year, and got a new band for my favorite cheaper watch made by Levis. Around Jan. this year, I swapped from the money clip to trying a wallet again.

Last month, I stoped carrying the razor knife in favor of this Queen lockback, and started carrying a dedicated eating knife again because of summer bbqs and bar/grill trips; Queen large toohpick.

Recently, the last couple months, I've been going back to my Leatherman Wave, switching between it and the Spirit. Also, I have a new Surge that I'm trying, along with some custom tools built from a Supertool 300, and a Wingman... In seach of the perfect multi again.

Also carrying an custom tool accessory pouch/kit again.

    Some available tools for future loadings and options;

Oh, and started carrying my Dads old zippo(made in 1951!) after he passed away in Dec. instead of my old chrome one. Added a thunderbird butane pipe lighter insert to it a couple months ago.

EDIT; Added 7-7-14, needed a handy place to link to, to keep a bunch of links to my stuff on the forums... this was the best place i could think of for now. Updated 1-8-15.

Last 2 weeks I had a sheath loaded with the Wave, and the tool kit, plus one or the other of the Queen knives, plus a pen... Really handy in one neat package, but turned out to be really too bulky for me, too much stuff all in one place.

I called it my pre-Skinth testing... But I ordered my skinth before I found this too bulky... I know the Skinths are slimmer, but I'm scarred that it won't work out for me. :(

For this week, I've swapped to the Wingman pocket clipped(first time carrying a multi like his), and a custom tool to augment it. Eliminated the razor knife for the nice blade on the Wingman, and my peanut. And since I ran out of CR123s the backup Fenix is on duty instead of the BC10.

    So, as it stands now,
    Fenix L2D
    Leatherman Wingman
    Wingman ToolBox Mod (LINK)
    Tool accessory kit/pouch
    Case SS Peanut
    1951 Zippo with thunderbird
    Bi-fold wallet
    Pantech C520 phone
    Gel pen
Been wearing the Levi watch a lot lately.

So, something new added to my tool kit today.

    Well, sorta new.
This was my prototype pocket tool design about 4 years ago. Got out of making stuff professionally before I got around to making any more of them... Its 1/8" 1095, about 5" long, spring tempered. pry bar/puller, box cutter edge, hex drivers, and cap lifter.

Figure I got it, might as well carry it some and see if its as handy as I thought it would be.

So thanks to the way back when thread, I looked up some of my old posts, and seeing these, got me currious how my cost has changed since the last adding up I did...

    Hmm.

    Lets see, as of the changes I've made this week, todays carry;

    Fenix L2D $70
    Leatherman Wingman $40
    Wingman ToolBox Mod (LINK) $50
    Tool accessory kit/pouch $50
    Case SS Peanut $50
1951 Zippo with thunderbird $50(if replaced with modern zippo)
    Bi-fold wallet $20
    Pantech C520 phone $100 (IIRC)
    Gel pen $2
    WrITR 3x5 pad $5
    Eco drive Watch $130

    $567..
+/- $100, depending on other watches, or knives, or lately, I am multi tool testing/finding...
    Call it probably $600 tops.

But, as carried today, $542, a ~$650 drop from before, and a (Yikes!) ~$1200. drop from when I was CCW-ing. Not bad!

New today; TeraLUX 80 lumen 2xAAA light.

Nice and bright, neutral/warm light. I'd say the 80lum. is quite accurate. lightweight strong clip. Carried all day, and used several times. Great Light! And hopefully will fit well in the side pocket of my skinth when it comes!

Also, thanks to mooshisho, I was planning to make some mini electrical tape rolls to carry. Then it hit me, the rubber pad on my EDC pen... Aha! Cut the pad off, and re-wrapped with 2 widths of electric tape, about 3.5' to 4' each.

Then, looking at the new light and its nice rubber end designed to be gripped in your teeth if needed...(which I found myself using today, its great!) Aha! So, I wrapped both tail caps of my other lights in about 4 layers of the same tape. Perfect. Don't know why I never thought of that before, I tend to tooth grip my lights a lot, and aluminum is cold and hard...

So, today, I finally got my Surge modded, ST300 head, and replace small bit holder with second fixed flat driver, to be ground into a chisel scraper. Will give it some testing and decide if i want to ditch the large bit holder for the ST300 fixed phillips driver.

Calling it the Blizzard 1.0, based on heavy tool needs in AK usually mean its really rough weather...the first incarnation Alaska version of the Surge.

Going into a one week period dedicated to the Blizzard now, to see how I really like it as a stand alone EDC multi.

Also dug up some more items for the accessory pouch, even though I'm not carrying it. A finger driver for the Vic ratchet, a 1/4" socket whobler, a male 1/4" socket drive to 1/4" male hex bit, a 1/4" female socketdrive to female 1/4" hex socket. 1/4" socket extention. Need one more of the square to hex male/male bits to make this work out though.

Also, recently around the house, at night or loafing days in PJs or sweats, a big tool edc is too much, so I threw together this set, a Mag solatair and Vic MiniChamp(I think...), and a small brass cross i made.. small and light duty, but helpful.

And for kicks, I made a pendant out of the left over LM Surge head... Talk about industrial jewelry!

I'm thinking fixed handles, and actual leather coverings... THE most minimalist actual leather(man) tool.

Time for a pocket dump again, since I've come down to a 'set' set of gear again.

    Dads ring-- right ring finger.

Kobalt lock back razor knife— clipped front right pocket
Modified Leatherman Wave-- clipped right rear pocket
Tool accessory kit/pouch— Depends on clothes; right lower tool pocket/right jacket flap pocket/ clipped right belt loop.
TeraLUX 80 lumen 2xAAA light— clipped left front pocket

Case SS Peanut— pants watch pocket
Dads 1951 Zippo with thunderbird insert— pants watch pocket

    Misc. New items this week.
A new case for my extended bit kit. Its the camera case that was for my Dads digital camera. I never use camera cases even when I carry a cam, too much trouble when you need to take a quick pic. Its great for this, a zipper is more secure than velcro or snaps, and its bigger than the leather sheath I was using, yet not too big like the Skinth was.

Also, with some micro parra cord and 3/8” SRBs I got in a couple days ago, I made new easily removable stampede strings for my Stetson.

Cut the nail puller hook end off of a Vaughn pry bar, made a pocket friendly pry bar out of it and added it to my tool pouch tonight.

OK, well, time to re-evaluate, and re-organize again.. Call it new carry for the new year if you like. :)

First thing, I am going to try just one knife, gonna leave the razor knife out, and try using just the PE blade on my modded Wave, since I did leave it on with the last build. I'm still technically carrying my ever trusty Case peanut, but its been more good luck charm, than anything I've used for a while now.

Second, I have been carrying both the Teralux light and my new Rofis JR10 convertible angle light. ITs nice haveing the Rofis for super brightness, and different modes, different angles. Then I had the Teralux for loaning out, and a fast easy lower light amount... But with the low and mid(which I leave it on at all times in memory mode) modes on the Rofis, its a bit redundant. So, down to just the JR10 for a while.

Third, and the biggest change, I sorted out the items in my tool support kit(shown a few posts up in the camera case). Removing items I haven't needed for months, and items I added seeing a future need, that the need has not come at all.

The above kit in the camera case, was also getting kinda heavy, another reason to pare things down. It was about 1lbs 4oz. Which made my main carry of Wave, Kit, and Rofis JR10 around 2 lbs 0.3oz... After removing items and switching back to a Leatherman bit kit sheath, the tool kit is down to 6oz. And down to 1lb ~2oz for the multi, light and kit together. Weight cut in half, can't complain about that!

We'll see how it turns out, if i need any of the other tools, and need to re-add them.

I cut the kit down to the case and tools shown below, minus the files, 2 pairs of tweezers, and the home made metal saw blade. So I now have the bit card, a t-shank metal saw, a MUT long flat/phillips bit, straight tweezers, Vic ratchet and LM extention, and the s curve ended pick.

Will leave the removed items in the camera case, and put it in my truck, so if I do need them, while not on me all the time, will be close at hand most of the time.

See posts below for pics :D
