Cool! I like Adam, he's very entertaining. Somebody should gift him a good headlamp. (Sometimes I've wondered if he's a member here, but he probably doesn't have time for forums.)
Interesting to see, though I will admit it does seem odd for someone who does so much practical work (modelmaking, mythbusters) he doesn't carry a knife, though I guess that is explained by carrying a Leatherman at Mythbusters, having an huge toolset at home and wanting to avoid the TSA...
He has mentioned in some of Tested's other videos he is a poster on some modelmaking/prop forums, but has never mentioned much else. Given the thought put into what he has it wouldn't surprise me to hear of him reading/taking part in discussion here or on CPF though.
I've been enjoying these Tested videos for awhile now. Especially the ones where Adam is showing off something in his home or shop.. . PS - Does anyone know what flashlight make/model that is? I am not looking to buy one, I am just curious is all..
Don't know about EDC forums, but he does spend a lot of time browsing on the net, and has been a contributing member to a couple of public and private forums I belong to, so it's not far fetched that he might be a member here. I may ask him the next time we cross paths.
A small.... scratch that, large, part of me hates you for this statement. Although, I'm guessing you work in his original field and location, so that explains it. Still...
He's talked about being a member of www.therpf.com countless times on these Tested videos and various other places, as well...
It looks like a Fenix LD01, assuming he is just ignoring the multiple light levels and just using it on medium most of the time (in which case, why not the e05?)
You're right, no knurling on the bezel, flat tail-cap with a split ring cut out... which makes me remember I have an E01 and an LD01 floating around somewhere.......
in his shop or at m5, i am sure he has plenty of edge tools. if he is traveling he would only have to surrender his blade so by not adding it to his EDC he never has to remember to remove it. makes sense. i have avoided the fisher space pen in favor of the G2 mini i don't have to worry about losing it and it is barely bigger. what's the fasination with the Fieldnotes ? i sort of liked the mini moleskines but even they aren't anything special there are a number of cheaper forms of notepad fieldnotes seems to just have a huge advertising budget targeted at hipsters.
Field Notes usually have limited runs. New editions come out every month or so. They also have a huge following in the creative community (graphic designers, writers, etc.) Not a huge advertising budget, just a niche product targeted to a specific audience.
yes they have a huge following...but they are still blank books which for something that size i'd consider it a consumable and preying on our addictive personalities is just mean.
Actually, I met him online years before he had his show. We had traded some stuff back and forth years back, having some mutual interests and he had been a member of a private forum I helped administrate. He used to wear one of our t-shirts on Mythbusters, in the first season, I think.
I concur. I can feel my juices start flowing when I see a bullet pen and moleskin but have resisted the pressure from my ego. So far! Thanks for the pointer to the g2.
