Hi guys, I haven't been here for a while, moved and had a baby etc...
I have sen a lot of makers, modders acid etching knives, I couldn't find anything about watches, so I gave it a go.
I also did the hardware and of course had to make a new strap.

I like the way it's turned out, although the bezel insert got eaten more than the case.

Looks really cool, like a bead blasted finish. What did you use to etch? Ferric Chloride? It doesn't have the blacken finish that FC typically has.

Just paint the numbers on the bezel and it will look complete.

Hi karlito, yup Ferric Chloride 40%, I wondered what gave a blacker finish.
It is like a beadblast and can scratch quite easily.....

And I was thinking of painting in the bezel markers :)

Interesting I've seen ferric chloride give a much darker finish, like when I etched a blade. I like the way you yours turned out. You will have to show us pics when you finish painting the bezel.

Funnily enough, I also did a Spyderco Squeak, and it came out much darker.

    And will do.

Just had a thought, the watch wouldn't have been heat treated, just plain stainless.
