Talking about food, there should be a second Dutch EDCF meeting. Preferably somewhere in a forest where a fire is allowed. I foresee a feast!

Kingsday 2015 went into town with GF. Started at the park with the flea market. Yes! Did score a Victorinox I didn't have yet... For just 50 cents I could not leave it... Also found those 'SOS talisman' hangers and necklaces, new and in original packaging. For 50 cents each they will find some use! After the flea market we walked into the center. Crowded, loud music, lots of barriers and fencing, security personel and police. Just a few entrances and exits. And what do I read? 'House rules'... shoot I'm walking outside in my own town... Rules!!!??? First crown says: Bringing beverages, drugs, weapons and the like is prohibited. Thir crown says: Blunt weapons, stab weapons or firearms are strictly prohibited. Hmmmm... weapons? Am I carrying weapons? I've got some tools on me... We had a beer and went home. The GF isn't feeling well last couple of days and for me it was to crowded... getting old I guess...
You had more luck than me. Guy had a bunch but asked 10 for it because it's a Victorinox. Cracked scales and all.
Just playing around on a photo editing site and with the two knives that have been with me last couple of days. Let's see what this looks like online... Shown are: Kershaw Skyline Victorinox Climber black Toolbag (says ToolsPark, got it cheap, probably Chinese )
Mentioned the toolbag in previous post. Why not capture it as it is today? Have been carrying this thing for the last days to be prepared in case the GF had chores for me in her new apartment. As said it's a cheap tool bag I found a while ago. Until now it served well. Top open Even an SAK is included... can you find it? Separate lower compartment With this basic set and the Wera tools I'm prepared for most jobs in and around the house, on cars and bikes. Wait a minute... I'm missing something... yes, this... Used this several times last days and did put it in my backpack... Well a man needs his tools, right?
Yes you're right about the Dutch army SAK. But is it called 'centurion'? I didn't know about that... Now I do! Thanks!
The SAK that Victorinox introduced that has the same tool selection, with the addition of the tweezers and toothpick, is called the Centurion. I don't think that the army refers to it by that name, but I'm not sure. I wanted to have one (the same one you have), but couldn't find it anywhere at the time, so I went to look for its non-military equivalent, and found the Centurion. I eventually got the Nomad (corkscrew rather than Philips driver) as the can opener is good enough for me as a Philips surrogate, and an impromptu screwdriver is easier found than an alternative for a corkscrew (although that video was indeed an eye opener!). I'm sorry for the ramble it happens..
Showed you my on the move tool set. This stays mostly at 'basecamp'... The 1/4" and 1/2" drive ratchet set The missing parts are the 1/4" drive ratchet with the sockets. They found their way into my 'on the move' set. And the 3/4 drive ratchet set Both sets have past 20 years of duty and are still going strong. Not so often used anymore though due to driving younger cars last couple of years Edit: by accident removed pictures from Flickr , replaced them.
I ordered that toy SAK just yesterday. Great tools you got there. I also have a proxxon ratchet set, fantastic value for the money.
So you're introducing the little one to the world of edc already? All well with child and mother? I bought these Proxxon tools when I was a student and as you say it's fantastic value for the money. One of my first jobs was in maintenance and I had Facom and Gedore tools in my tool chest. Completely different league I think but with the prices to go with it. For the jobs around the house I only can recommend Proxon.
"Already"? After all he's 11 days old and is still without a knife?! Child is great, mother needs some more time to recover but i am optimistic. Actually i know some people who are using Proxxon in their job, too. Hazet, Facom, Gedore etc. are awesome but are just too expensive for some applications in my opinion.
Just did some grocery shopping and restocked "Senf". PM me if you want to try the real stuff. “Knicks and dull edges are abominations, so use knives and hatchets for nothing but they were made for.” – Horace Kephart, 1917
Maybe it would even make sense to put one of those in my Fatty organizer.... “Knicks and dull edges are abominations, so use knives and hatchets for nothing but they were made for.” – Horace Kephart, 1917
