Delicious as ever, please tell me more about the MOINK balls........
Not the right moment to be sick Joost. Good to read you did better yesterday. Now even more better I hope! Still, have a fine 3rd day of Christmas!
Thanks Survivorman! That's what I like to do, cook and eat Even better when doing it together with my brother and for the people we love!
Although I like your landscape better I really liked Texel. When possible we will go back there my girlfriend and I decided.
If you don't know by now... a cow says MOO... a pig says OINK... so a meatball wrapped in bacon makes.... right MOINK!
Basicly it is a minced beef meatball wrapped in a strip of bacon. The meatball is seasoned with Pamesan cheese and oregano (and more of course). These balls are dusted with a bbq dry rub before wrapped by the bacon. Then put in the smoker or indirectly heated in a kettle grill. An hour before taking from the smoker the balls are brushed with a bbq sauce. Can be eaten hot, but I also like them cold with a beer.
If you google 'noskos moink balls' the first result should bring you to the site of 'BBQ-NL', on their page on MOINK balls. A bit of history and step by step instructions on how to make them.
You should try these... perhaps make them for old year's evening? Next to the oliebollen
On that site you can also find ABTs! Atomic Buffalo Turds! Half jalapenos filled with cheese and wrapped in... well bacon and put on the bbq. Spicy it can be, be warned!
JPE Thanks for this cooking lesson, sounds good must taste even better. Bacon king of the kitchen.
Been a while....
Found a not to be mentioned online store And bought something I had on my list for a while.
Most of you will know these. Mechanix Wear Original Covert Gloves, even a 2-pack.
Now I can experience myself what it's all about
First tried how it is to pull my knife from my pocket and flip it open. Goes rather well. Taking out the S1 from that small front pocket was a bit more difficult, but still possible.
Bit to tactical looking for me Just for the purpose of showing (off) to the girlfriend who doesn't understand how I can get so excited about a pair of gloves. 'Now you're ready for the zombies or what?', she asked me.... Still love the girl though
I'm digging your new tacticool look.
Those gloves look handy.
Ah, so my Mechanixes will probably await me as well once I get back home next week...
Could be... don't know where you ordered...
Probably Voldemort's. That's all he does lately. That and the Disney website for his frozen paraphernalia
Another try to sort out my kit or gear. After last trip to Texel I just cleaned out the eating utensils. Still have to store all the stuff in the right places.
But first a coffee and some grub...
Year is coming to an end. Besides some setbacks it has been a great year! Did go out more, met nice people, got more knives and what not, and not at least most people I know and love are doing fine. Now sorting out my stuff and having it in my hands does remind me of those occasions, those people and locations...
Now back to the coffee and sorting...
Nice gloves, but why order them from the USA? Gearpoint has them too..
I know, but I could get 2 pair for about $28 instead of €25 for one pair over here Was a special offer...
You too Joost Heijnen, you and your family, have a great and healty 2016!
Also ordered these gloves, wanted them for a long time.
They will serve me well in 2016 I think. Best wishes!
All the best to you too Stammoss!
Good old friend has just left. Had our beers and watched darts on TV. Not my thing but he wanted to watch. Must admit it gets pretty exciting, darts that is. A Dutchman doing well on such a tournement, playing against an old champ.
But he brought a large bottle of beer, a local beer, that Chaamse Trippel. And I had still some Belgian beers. So, this we had...
Good night you all!
Hope, you did not miss the Walk On Girls at Ally Pally...
Darts is a lifesaver during the mostly sportless time "in between the years".
