One hour drive... is not impossible for me Checked the paalkampeerplek looks nice. Fire is allowed I read. But also noticed the internet site of Staatsbosbeheer has changed. And I can not find several camp sites anymore...
They are concentrated in the south indeed. But there are several not on the site anymore. Maybe they are not maintained anymore? Don't know if one can still camp on those sites... Sure could do like 'our noses are bleeding' I sent an e-mail to Staatsbosbeheer to ask about the one in Dorst. Hope they will reply.
Let's start with a day first, instead of a two day trip. Mainly because I don't have a decent sleeping bag.
Almost forgot that I didn't only get the Enzo necker but also another Opinel at the DKE last Saturday... Yes another No. 7 May try to play with that forced patina... just have to read up on it how to proceed
Great pics and stories, thank you for sharing My army-issued alox SAK is the only knife I've ever lost when it was stolen from my luggage at either Schiphol or the Spanish airport I arrived at, I still miss that knife I would love to do a meet-up at a Paalcamping by the way, we actually discussed this before in de Vries his thread a while back if I remember correctly. I will probably stay the night myself though, if I can park my motorcycle somewhere safe enough anyway. I've only met another forum member once so far and even between the two of us an evening was barely enough to check out all the gear that we had bring along, haha. But I'll be out of the country for most of May and June, so summer or fall would work best for me.
Basically it was just what we usually carry plus what is in our EDC-bags, and I think she brought her entire CR123A light-collection (still less then ten) so I could check them out. I was on a holiday myself at the time so I didn't have that much with me, it could have been a lot worse, lol
Talking about every day carry there is is one thing I carry almost always... or wear... glasses! Went out today to get my new glasses. My general wear... My sunny wear...
Being in the city for my glasses was a good excuse to have lunch in the open air. Well I had to test drive the sunglasses. Knew they have pulled pork sandwich lately but didn't have a change to try before... And guess what, the Dutch trying to brew Weizen beer too nowadays...
You're right it's kind of a mix though between German Weizen and Belgian Witte as stated on the site of Hertog Jan. I think it's more Belgian oriented with the taste of coriander and oranges. It's nice but if available I'd go for a German beer
Well today my GF got the keys to the apartment she bought. Chores for me EDC tools come in handy Ripping... ... and pulling... Tomorrow will be moving.
