I'd like a new one. Two things are important to me: 1. No leather, please. 2. The buckle has to be tight. I want it sitting tight on my waist even if someone were to grab my belt and lift me off the ground. All my webbing belts come loose. Since I'm a bit disfigured from sports (my thighs are too muscular for the rest of my build) I'm forced to wear pants that are slightly too big all the time. I want to keep them where my buttocks won't stick out. Normal webbing belts will keep the belt tight for about an hour, then it's time for readjusting. That gets on my nerves. I suppose there must be tactical belts that are designed for carrying lots of gear and I guess that in a tactical situation saggy pants will pose as a slight disadvantage, so the coming loose with time bit should be taken care of ?
What have you tried thus far? Two ads I've seen thus far which claim to address this are: - Grip6 - slidebelts (a latch / ratchet system)
I've only used civilian belts so far. The Grip6 looks awesome. I really like the design, but I refuse to believe that this will not come loose during the day.
The Urban Tactical belt from Helikon-Tex will do the trick. I've been wearing mine on an almost daily basis for 4 years now, and there's no way it comes loose during the day.
I don't know who makes the belt, but Garand Thumb on YouTube has a belt with a traditional buckle and SCUBA webbing strap he said he helped develop. Check out his site. It looks a lot like a regular belt. It's not for me, but it's an option without Velcro and Cobra buckles.

I have been using the carbon fiber Grip6 every day for the last 3 weeks. I've been losing a lot of weight lately, so my pants are always way too big. I was skeptical about the Grip6, but so far it's really been a champ
Yeah, I've seen reviews on YT claiming the same. Unfortunately, in my part of the world, the original belt is not available right now, only a Chinese rip off for roughly the same price - and I don't like it when someone has an Idea like that, only to see companies from the far east copy it and sell it to the markets that are not covered by the original. I ordered a 5.11 tactical belt and will see how that performs.
The postman rang today (once). There was a mixup and I was sent an Instructor belt instead of the 5.11. It must be some kind of lucky day, when you order a belt for fifteen bucks, get sent a belt for fifty bucks and an apology for the mixup along with the offer to keep it. It fits like a glove, my pants stay where they should and I already tried dangling from the buckle, which also works like a charm. I have no Idea when I need to have an emergency climbing harness and have no current habit of leaning out of helicopters, but you never know, eh?
Riggers belts are made for crew on combat or SAR helos so they can clip in in case they happen to fall out the doors. They have to meet the same kind of standards as safety belts for people working at elevation. This particular belt fits standard two-inch belt loops and can be used in everyday wear, but the Cobra buckle and the quality of construction put it a step above practically everything else out there. Usually you get a choice between an alloy or steel tether point and a Cobra buckle. In this case, they choose the Cobra buckle and have a rated tether loop attached. The loop stays out of the way (though it's a very nice spot for EDC to hook a carabiner with your keys or whatever) and the Cobra buckle means you can unsnap the belt instantly when you're in the head and don't want a big ripping of velcro. Most of the other belts call for the velcro rip. I'm on my third one of these and have used them in both daily and SAR use for years. I use a Volund Gearworks G-hook belt that works well. They have a regular and slim depending on the desired stiffness. The adjustment velcros so it stays tight, then you use the g-hook to buckle once adjusted. I’ve also used a Wilderness Instructor belt which also has where the adjustment end velcros so it stays tight.
