What do you think should be on every keychain? Pics encouraged! This is kinda a thread on what I should add to my keys.

The only usable item would be my cadet. I know I need a light. But what else? Should I upgrade my cadet?

I think a housekey on every keychain is a good start.

I personally keep my keys and keychain tools separate. I can't stand the bulk.

Oh I see. I never thought to separate them.

I dont like bulk, and i have it so my mini-mt can disconnect. I have a leatherman squirt on my keychain that i can disconnect via a pico clip.

At eight dollars, my Spyderco bug cuts things my standard edc knife cannot. An alternative small knife option.

I prefer a standard Classic SD. Smaller, more pocketable, and the non-alox version has those AWESOME tweezers I always use.

If you ditch the heavy brass clip (as nice as it is!) You can allot that weight to more useful items. IMHO keep your keys
light and secure with a bare minimum, backup set of stuff. My keys only have a modified widgie bar, and on the same ring I anchor my keys to with a McGizmo clip, is a Fauxton style light, and a SAK classic SD with the scales removed, and a Zebra compact pen. My keys can be in the ignition of the car, but i still can access the tools. If i lose my keys, I have a light to look for them with. And if you drive, your ignition cylinder will thank you.

A Photon Freedom LED light. The weight/size to light ratio is excellent.

Lots of clips out there. I used a plastic clip off of a bag for a while. Works great, ultra light. McGizmos are the industry standard I believe. Check the forum store.

Excellent idea. For eight dollars, they rock. Gotta love the integrated keychain clip!

Id have to venture to say a bottle opener.

I just indulged in an Innova keychain light, has a strobe/high/low setting, picked it over the Photon.

Also picked up a SwissTech Utili Key which I could see coming in great handy while being incognito.

My main keychain is about as minimalist as it gets. Keys, mini-plastic fob that acts as an electronic key for the building's inner lobby doors, and a keychain light. Occasionally a tiny button-cell model such as a Photon Freedom. But usually a very small AAA model. Something along the lines of the Maratac AAA model or an older Fenix L0D.
