    Zebralight H502d.

Gotta have sub-lumen for around the house.

1 lumen is wayyyyyy too bright after waking up in pitch black.

One fundamental philosophy that everyone should adhere to is to have a portable light source at bedside. Hundreds of years ago, the match and candle combo was indispensable. There are few philosophies that have stood the test of time and this one has only changed in that technology has made it more efficient to deploy.

Decades ago, I remember my father having one of those gubmint-issue right-angle head units with the pathetic sub-10 lumen output (if that) from 2 D-cells and the incandescent (it ain't decent) bulb.

These days, I have a Surefire 2-cell P2ZX Combatlight dedicated to this duty. It is handier than the Surefire 12ZM that it replaced. It has a mirrored reflector that allows a more defined hotspot & greater "throw;" something that I don't really need inside the confines of my home but is not a disadvantage. I use disposable cells.

The P2ZX's 500-lumen output is too much for mundane area utility illumination so a Maratac Ti 1-AAA worn on a Ti necklace does middle-of-the-night duty. Those are the only two flashlights in arms length at bedtime.

Thrunite TC12. I like that the first mode is moonlight. Easy on the eyes in the dark. I also like that strobe can be activated by long pressing the front switch, in case of an intruder. Being rechargeable is a nice bonus!

Decided to "retire" the X5 and the Solarforce L2M/Nailbender migrated to the kitchen. Now the MD2/M61T is accompanied by a MD2/M61N,SF G2/M61NLL,MD4/Neutral Hound dog and a Streamlight Sidewinder Rescue with a Lee filter gel over the main led to "warm-up" the beam.A 4C Mag with a Malkoff drop-in resides on the floor within arms reach.I guess the Hound dog or 4C Mag are the "bump in the night" lights but either of the MD2s could suffice.Overkill ? maybe...but at least I am well equipped! :D

I just got a S10IIR and I actually really like the charging dock they come with. I think this will be become my new nightstand light. That way I know it's always charged when I may need it most. I may end up getting an S30R but I got this light for basically free so it will do for now.

I was just recently given an LED Lenser F1R by a friend visiting from Taiwan. It seems to have taken over for my Fenix PD32 for my bedside light. This thing is amazingly bright!

Side Note, does anyone know where to get the LED lenser 18650 battery charger? I have been unable to find one. I was told I need to use their charger vs one of my other 18650 chargers for their batteries. Supposedly the batteries overheat if not used with their charger. Could just be marketing nonsense, but I am not looking to have a battery fire.

    Any help would be appreciated.

If Bigfoot ever does come in the door, offer him a nice cold beer, get him drunk, then introduce him to the concept of "selfies".

This is the light I take out of my pocket to light my way after I've undressed at night:

I know exactly what mode this light will go into when I push the on button in a half awake state, I don't have to remember what mode I turned it off in it always starts in low mode and in the visible , Red or ir mode depending on how I set it up. Dead simple and dependable as a middle of the night things go bump flashlight.
