What do you guys think of this bag? Handy, durable, enough pockets for edc plus more? Looking to buy it and want the low down before spending $$$ only to find out I'd be disappointed. "Another day, a whole 'nother set of possibilities." MacGyver
If you can EDC with the 72 I need to see your loadout! It is an enormous bag really. Pretty nice but huge!
Lots of threads about the bag. General consensus: Solid, well designed, value packed bag. A bit too big for EDC (24 or even 12 more suitable depending on what you like lugging around all the time) but a good bad nonetheless.
Ok what bag in the 5.11 range would be more suitable for a larger kit? "Another day, a whole 'nother set of possibilities." MacGyver
I'll second that, the 24 is great for a larger EDC set, and has the capability to stretch to an overnight/2-night bag quite easily. The 12 is great for a typical EDC set, nice size and weight and noticeably more compact than the 24, but you'd be hard-pressed to stretch it to a solid overnight bag. Maybe if you're just carrying normal EDC, an extra t-shirt and a small hygiene kit. I'm using both overseas right now - the 12 gets the daily nod, but when I travel to different locations than "home," I go with the 24 to allow me to carry cold weather gear, extra ammo and equipment, etc. The 24 feels like it sits a lot better on IOTV too, I think because it's back panel is a bit larger.
Na I think I'll go the 24. I been watching reviews. I want to carry the work MacBook as well. "Another day, a whole 'nother set of possibilities." MacGyver
I agree the 72 would be too big for EDC. I keep one in my car for a BOB and also use it for camping. It easily holds 3 days worth of food, water, clothing, a 1 man tent, camp pillows, and light cooking gear. That's how big it is. I carry a Rush 12 daily for work and i think its a perfect size for EDC. Mine fits my Toughbook, power supply, some hand tools, a water bottle and lots of other odds and ends just fine. Rush 24 still might be pushing it too big for EDC unless you're just carrying from your car to a desk and back every day.
I agree. It's more of a Bug-Out-Bag than EDC. That's the bag you keep in the truck, the EDC bag goes with you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Honestly, dan.05 what is it you are looking a carrying? That would help with any suggestions really. I have the 5.11 Rush 72, Range bag and MOAB 10... Love the 5.11 bags all very durable and well designed I'm looking at getting the Rush 12 maybe the 24 depending on my needs at the time. Sorry bit off topic there but let us know your load out and that might give us a better idea of the size you should look at. Peace
I use the Rush 72 as my turn out bag for fire fighting. It carries all my gear including helmet but not boots. It is not suitable for EDC unless it is for work or as a fire fighter / first responder. It would suit as a bug out bag. I use a Rush 12 in multicam as my EDC bag. Perfect size and carries everything I need. I have not used ths Rush 24 but am considering one as an overnight or travel bag.
So I went the 24. It came today and is just the right size for what I need. I have the work mac book in there with a small first aid kit, wet weather poncho, select food items, notepads, knives from tactical to work tool, pens, torch etc. all fits comfortably and is a perfect size. Once a few bits and pieces come I'll post pics. "Another day, a whole 'nother set of possibilities." MacGyver
Here it is with 5.11 first aid kit and Australia patch. "Another day, a whole 'nother set of possibilities." MacGyver
Cheers. Had to get the patch from Italy. Custom embroidered. I got the first aid kit as I'm trained in first aid and think the off the shelf kits arnt well equiped. Love this bag. "Another day, a whole 'nother set of possibilities." MacGyver
