So my SO likes my Olight S1R2 ti (winter), because it has that warm tint (3300K).
These are a bit hard to come by at present, though. There's one on ebay, listed for 800 bucks.
Are there any useful 18650 lights that put put around 800 lumens on max that have a tint in that ballpark (<4000K) ?

I carry a Zebralight for the last many years and you can get them that warm if you need too.

SC64c LE and I do not think you can go wroing with a ZL,I know that I never have found anything that I like as well!

Also the Armytec lights in Warm are really warm tinted in my experience and I have a had good luck with them as long as I get a good one from the start.

The Zebra does, AFAIK, 4000K - I am looking for less than that.

    X2 convoy s2+

Get the XPL HI U3-7A for your 3000-3300K tint.

My daily carry is a XPL HI U6-4C (4200-4500K) and I find that as warm as I like.

Don't know if it's 'warm' enough for you (specs don't say) but I am rather happy with my Wowtac A2S NW headlamp. It's got a 'neutral white' LED, which is warmer and has better color rendition than the 'cool white' LED. At $30, it's a good 18650 light that puts out 1050 lumens on turbo, which is way more than most people have need/use for and it comes with the battery. If she doesnt want to use it as a headlamp it can be removed from the harness and used as a typical right-angle flashlight.

    I really like mine. :)

Ah, yes! Finally, a valid enough reason to order a convoy s2+.
    Thanks

S2 are great too but a lot bigger if it matters?

I didn’t see the color temp requirement at first!

Yeah, the S2 is on the bigger side, could always go with the 18350 version if necessary.

Size is not that much of a problem. It'll be the lying-in-a-cupboard-and-being-taken-out-when-needed kind of light, where a bit more bulk actually means it won't get lost as easily.

With the Convoy on the way, I suddenly started wondering, which cells it needs. I only have unprotected 18650s sitting around - will they do or do I need protected ones?

The S2+ should have low voltage protection. I only have unprotected batteries (Samsung 30Q) and have not had a problem.

99% of my cells are not protected. When I first got mine I was paranoid and got protected cells but over time just got used to knowing when to charge them. You will learn how to watch the light output and see it slightly dim or flicker right after you turn it on and know the cell is getting low.

Thank you. I had to place an order for some replacement batteries and that shop had some LG 18650s with 3350mAh for next to nothing, so I grabbed a pair. With the convoy at $14, It'll be a nice budget light.
I went for the warmest tint with 6 stabilizers. We'll see when the parcel has made the journey.

Haha, the Convoy arrived a while back. I set it up to mode memory and a cycle with only three different outputs, so it became a really handy light.
The 2700K is a really warm tint, but not as warm as I feared. All in all it's a good light, especially for the money.
But here's the problem: It took a couple of weeks to get from China to my house. The Wife has used my Zebralight SC600W Mk.IV HI in the meantime - and now sees no reason whatsoever to hand it back.
The good bit is that she's now able to appreciate a good flashlight. The bad bit is that I don't have 24/7 Access to my favorite 18650 Light.
