I left a brushed finish to match the other tools on my keychain...
Nice. Where do you keep the bits?

My main purpose for this tool is the 1/4" nut driver. You can carry it with one of the screwdriver options.
If you needed to carry bits, I'll bet you could find a pill fob that would work well too. Nice work!
Neat idea. What is the piece next to the clippers..looks like a butter knife blade?
I use a COOYOO Coddy to carry bits for my Crypto. There's an Atwood BitBucket but its a benjamin.
Nice setup BTW.
That's exactly what it is. My pry tool just can't get under some stuff like this thin SS blade can. I've reshaped it and gave it a bit of an edge. It probably gets used more than anything, second only to my knife. It was a piece left over after I made my dangler from the handle portion of the dinner knife.
Waste not, want not. Or something like that.
Thanks for the info. I like the COOYOO idea. Just googled it, I'd not seen one until now.
Its great but tricky to sometimes find. I got mine in the UK. Its very well made and light. I want a couple more so if you find a good supplier please PM.
Here it is in action:
I also have an all metal gadget keychain keychain similar to yours. My kids like playing with it but I also find I use most of the things when I carry it (except the Ti whistle). I am considering a widgy. Also I just ordered a UFO to maybe help organize it better. When Gamble starts stocking his FM1 dangler I might get one as well or make a similar one. That pocket clip you made looks great.
So far, it appears the few sources I've found, no longer carry it. They have other COOYOO products, just not the Coddy. The Widgy is a good tool. I'm glad I went with this smaller version. What's the black six sided piece clipped to your keychain? I'm playing catch-up here, I'll also have to google UFO and the FM1. I may have seen them, just didn't know what they were called.
Someone needs to start a GLOSSARY THREAD W/ PICS for the less "educated".
The black thing is a KEY-BAK 0301-102 No.1101 Quick Release Side Slide, Pull Apart Key Chain Release with 2 Split Rings, Black Finish, Rectangular. Its made by the venerable Key Bak company who make those key retractor devices to clip on a belt.
Its a solid lump of metal and very secure.
The UFO is a titanium ring with holes drilled made by TEC who also make the necessary P7 clip and the Pythons. All these TEC things are sold in the forum store.
The FM1 is a cool little piece of machined metal you hang off a P7 that spreads out a load. Gamble also makes the GEARPULL.
The light is the XSTAR which are sometimes hard to get but cost like 79 cents. Incredibly bright for what it is.
Great DIY, I am already digging around in my took kit for an old extension. I think I may have one that is long enough to take dual sided bits too.
Hope to see it when you're done.
LOTS OF INFO! THANKS! Still wondering what you took that picture on?
I will post a pic right here for you!!
As promised. I put something together, we will see how it handles after carrying it for a bit! No pun intended. LOL.
Started as this:
Two sided shaft, cut the 1/4" side off:
Aluminum Magnetic 1/4" Extension:
Cut extension beyond the magnet and drill through the aluminum to push the magnet out the front:
Magnet in hand, press into new 1/4" shaft from the back:
I still like yours better, but at least I finished what I set out to do! LOL. Have a good one.
Its the cover of a binder.
FL: What is that black thingee dangling next to your bit driver in your last pic?
