In certain cases, yes; a carbine is easier to maneuver indoors and generally will still have the ballistic capability of a rifle at indoor ranges....
While I love my Kahr, my Glock 26 sees more carry time these days. I just shoot it better and Glocks are about the only gun I'd feel comfortable...
