I used 7 mm heat shrink tubing that I found at a local boating/marine store (it shrinks to 3.5 mm; half it's start diameter) and I cut some 550 cord that was longer than I needed because it makes it harder to tie with the heat shrink tube in place. I cut off the ends and melted it to make sure it stays put, then used a heat gun to shrink the tubing, I made sure to thoroughly wet the bag around that area and especially on the zipper so it wouldn't melt the bag/zipper. The Goruck packs use hollowed out cord I believe, so if you went that way, you'd probably need 5 mm heat shrink instead of the 7 mm.
You need to color code according to contents. That way whichever pack you use, you'll know where you have your side arm, FAK, food, tools, etc.
I wish. They were just missing. I emailed in and they are sending them out. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Per my experience with black bags, Neon Green zipper pulls are the best. It' visible in lowlight conditions and mitigates the " tactical " look of the bag, sort of... LOL
I don't think you can go wrong with either colour, however, since you asked for a poll, my vote goes for red, red on black looks sharp.
on a separate note, where is a good place to buy paracord from? have to accept paypal and ship to Canada.
Supply Captain has a great selection. I know they take PayPal, you would have to e-mail them to see about Canadian shipping. http://www.supplycaptain.com/ I put neon pink on my black GG Stealth pack, but I am liking the look of the neon green! (I was trying to get rid of the Mall Ninja look.)
On a black bag, hmm. I'd go with all gray and the very important compartment red, or used the same paracord i used, black with a reflective string, but the tips, I'd go with the ones I put on mine, glow in the dark, and one whistle tip, if you look closely it's the third in from the left, JR
