Bare footed ---- at the moment AK Adventurer: I must see a picture of the Bunny Boots---I visualize pink furry things with ears I am sorry, but I would not put foot one inside something called a Bunny Boot.
Well, then your feet would freeze.... ;-) you could use their given name; Extreme Cold Vapor Barrier Boots yup, thats them! I've worn them at -65F, in a 55mph wind, and had HOT sweating feet. They're also great if you end up through the ice and in the river; Dump the water out and put them back on. Since the insulation is trapped between the molded together inner and outer layers of rubber, they can get soaked, and still insulate. G.
Living in Texas, I had never even heard of said boots. The name does not fit the description. Maybe should be called Honey Badger boots.
Whats a Honey Badger? Ahh... Ok, I see what you mean (serriously, I had to google what it is, didn't get the reference at all...) The name soposedly comes from the Snow Shoe Rabbit, during the fall the rabbits' fur changes from brown to white, so it can blend in for the winter. Their feet change color before the rest of them do, so as winter gets closer, more and more rabbits appear with their new white "boots" on... That coupled with how big a snow shoe rabbits' feet are in relation to its body compared to how big these boots are, gets the name. Actually kinda funny, they are a staple of Alaskan living and have been for a long time... I grew up with the name and never gave it a second thought! I can see it being an odd name if your not used to it. G.
Today, a pair of circa 1983 San Antonio made Lucchese cowboy boots (the reddish ones on the far right).
^ That's an awesome shot, nice lucs too. I've been wearing my sharkskins for about the last year, theyre like slippers you can ride in: New Now I'm pretty rough on boots but these have held up well.
Those are some nice sharkskins! They are tough skins. I have a couple of elephant boots that I wear that take a lot of beating but I know sharkskin is up there too,
We used to call the "bunny boots" by a different name in the forces up here. We called them Micky Mouse Boots. lol
Thats what I hear online, but in the 27 years I've been here, I've Never seen a black pair(not in use, in surplus or new in a store), nor heard that term used in person. I don't think they're verry common compared to the white ones. G.
I am wearing a pair of lightweight Meindl boots from http://www.meindl.de/english/ This is my second pair, other ones I wore out after 10years of use. These have already done a few thousand miles
Thanks! Some natural crocs would be sweet. I want an elephant carry rig from DM Bullard so bad, elephant is some seriously tough stuff. The only other exotic I own is a pair of black gator bellies from Mexico. They are nice too but I love these so much more, they are seriously like wearing slippers that you can run in etc. They have formed to my foot shape and not stretched a hair more than that, best boots I've ever owned.
