G9000-1V Mudman, keeps price low by being non solar and non atomic, but still employs nice features like 2 stopwatches, countdown timer, 5 alarms, and world time. Also has date, day, and time available on main display. Size is nice. EL backlight is nice too and can be set to use manually or automatically. It's my first and only G so far and I love it.

I agree Mudman is the way to go just make sure you get the Solar/Atomic

I am getting a mudman tomorrow probably. I am going to my local stores to look at some. Can't wait!

Just a warning....I've read on some of the reviews on Amazon that some of the gshocks sold on there may be fakes from China. They say to ensure you're getting a real Gshock, buy it from Gshock, or from an authorized retailer like Zumiez or Macy's.

That can happen at Macy's too. It's a scam to buy a nice gshock, then return it with the box now filled with a cheap knockoff. The clerk doesn't know the difference, and puts it back in the display case to be purchased by someone else.

I suppose so, but I'd say your chances are much better than Amazon. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Amazon. I even have a prime membership, but that story I read scared me straight.

It helps if it actually says casio, spelled correctly. Watchuseek has a casio thread on how to spot fakes. If it dies the first time you sweat on it, it's a fake.

Wow! Scary.

The DW5600 has all the features you want and nothing you don't- time (w/ day, month, date, seconds, 24hr capabilities), countdown timer, alarm, stopwatch. Home time is displayed in timer and stopwatch modes. The EL is a nice, bright, even green color.
The GW500A is a good one as well. Its advantages are the solar/atomic, multiple alarms, second time zone, and a few more features. No countdown timer though.

5600e gets my vote. i grabbed one at target for under 50 bucks. i sold it used in very good condition on ebay for 35 bucks. they can be had pretty consistently at that price. has the best features of the gshock, much slimmer than most of them, and its cheap
