Carried a Victorinox Classic from my last day of Boyscout Camp back in the late 90's till about 5 years ago when I somehow lost it. Miss that little bugger.

Bought a Magnolia for the girlfriend... Something tells me she won't be all that excited about it, but I thought it was nice ;)

That's neat! I hope the pic can withstand some pocket wear, it would be a shame if it rubbed off soon.

    Yeah, that's my only worry.

Only "review" I could find on one of these showed that it came with a small leather sleeve. Hopefully mine will come with one, too.

Anyone have one of these limited edition Classics on their keychain that could chime in on that?

The painted ones aren't that good for pocket or keychain carry, they will look worn quickly. I you intend on carrying it get the keychain pouch for it.

Also you borrowed the pic from the greatest collector of Classics (among others) I know of. Wayne also known as stressmaster5000 created most of the pages of SAKWIKI too. [IMG]

Any plastic SAK gets ruined within the first day on my keychain.

Yeeahhh, I had a feelin... still too good lookin to pass up though :) I'll have to try & find a way to keep it protected. Probably keep it in the little sheath if that'll stay on. Hmm... wonder if I could clearcoat it or something.

    Thanks, guys!

I have a Tinker with the Gadsden flag motto on it(Don't Tread On Me), that hangs on a TEC p-7 clip in the corner of my LFPocket, that is still starting to rub off.

Anything alcohol based strips the printing on Vic scales right off. It's also a trick a lot of counterfeiters use to "age" Vic scales to pass off as vintage. They use rubbing alcohol n the scales and then toss them into a sock with a few other Vics and jumbled them around. They come out looking 30 years old.

Thanks, everyone. I noticed in the description that it says "Thanks to a top lacquer, the imprint is protected against scratches and assures a long lasting wear when exposed to neighboring keys."

As stated earlier I'm gonna see if I can't keep it in the little pouch it comes with... if not, I guess we'll see how well that description holds up.

I'll try & remember to post an update when I get it and again after a few weeks of wear & tear.

This idea popped into my head while reading this, what about using some surface guard, I use it on my scooter on my glovebox below my keys to prevent them from scratching, I also use it on the cowls above the foot pegs my kids use.

I don't know how it would work on the knife, it says it's semi-permanent adhesive, but I can't verify that as I haven't removed any yet . If you wanted something cheaper you could try some clear packing tape, dunno how that would work either.

    Just throwing ideas out there.

Haha, yeah I thought of the same packing tape idea this AM when I was driving down the highway.

First try at a home made solution. Shrink wrap... Actually works pretty well! Firm grip to keep it secure but still slides in & out without too much trouble.

Fit is pretty snug. Confident enough in it that I flipped it... Now the sheath is attached to the keychain & the knife can be removed and used without the keychain getting in the way.

Openings in the sides are a little rough around the edges (literally) but allow you to see the design & let you get a better grip to remove it.

I always carry my classic in the keyring sheath for it. Keeps it looking good, and sinceit's not really attached to the keyring, it's easy to use, just pull it out of the little sheath and open the tool you want. Sheath stays attached to keyring via the split ring it's mounted on.
