Hey guys, I've got a little comparison of these two micro USB drives. The purple one is a Verbatim Tuff n Tiny 8GB that I received today. The black one is the Sandisk Cruzer 32GB that I've been using for a while. You can see that they are both around an inch. Here's a shot of the thickness: These are both great drives. However, I lean more towards the San Disk Cruzer. It has a more stout construction, and feels more durable, especially with the metal casing. That is not to say the Tuff n Tiny ain't tuff. I'm positive it is. Another reason why I like the Sandisk is the amount both of these stick out when plugged in. Check it: I feel that if I were to accidentally bump the Verbatim, it wouldn't crack, but it might damage the port in my computer. Thus, for everyday use, I like to use the San Disk, which barely sticks out at all. The Verbatim will be used in my Maxped EDC as a backup for important docs and such. Just thought I'd share this comparison. Hope you find it helpful. jw
I had a Verbatim like that (black, 16GB) until it managed to escape from my True Utility Keyring System clip after a few days. Verbatim claims it to be waterproof. How do you prevent loosing the cap of the cruzer?
It snaps on nicely to the unit. When it's in use, I either keep it near the computer or stick it in my Electronics EDC pouch. I never really use the thumb drive for extended periods of time. Usually just to transfer files and whatnot. I have almost lost it a few times though.
Give me the TNT any day. It's cool. I wear an orange one on my keychain. If I need a thumb drive to leave in the computer, the Sandisk would win, but for EDC on my keyring, I need something with style.
I have one of the sandisks (my most recent drive) & the cap does fit well & kinda "snicks" into position. Haven't lost it yet. ( just worried about losing the whole thing its so small lol) I carried a normal size one around on keyring for couple of yrs, got so beat up, lost cap, got rust on metal, and eventually the part that goes in got loose & now wont do anything when plugged in. I now, don't carry on keyrings & that little clip in a maxped mini has a use Sent from my Mobile Command Center via Tapatalk II
I used to carry the sandisc on my keychain. Almost lost the cap a few times which was annoying but not as bad as when the very tiny and not-very-durable keychain loop broke. It's just not that durable.
