I Likely won't completely dissolve them. I'll make it available to those to know. I am more concerned about new Skinth users who will have more features but will be less scared about the intense navigation required to order a custom Skinth.

The system isn't perfect and I am already encountering problems with the shield order form (ppl ordering the third option thinking they are going to get a deal at 15% off their first Shield)

This isn't so much of a hard heads up, it's more of a foreshadowing of what's to come.

Personally, the sling style design is more effective for the smaller designs.

DOH!!! I'm actually pretty good at voiding warranties. Just can't help myself :)

If at the end you can put out more of these awesome products at the same or better quality then it's a win win win.

For myself, open bottom side tubes are ideal in that they can handle more of my edc pens and flashlights. It's sort of a struggle but the dual side tubes, one pair open bottom and the second closed, sounds like a good design. Every time I bought a Skinth the biggest consideration for me was to get a closed or open bottom side tube and that's because I couldn't decide what exactly I was going to carry in it until I had it.

You are taking to a guy who's tool purchases are based on if I can take them apart or not

This is why I think the new design with the integrated slim pockets AND the open side tubes is ideal. Ill be doing some tests, I already redesigned the OG and I can already see how I can integrate a Pentapocket up front again. Would you believe that it would only be a two piece design?

From there, its a simple matter of adding features like the side tube flaps, molle straps, knife straps, SRBs, h&k clips etc.

I love being able to shove a hank of mini paracord down below my MT in my sheath, partly to raise it up so it's easy to grab and partly to have the cordage. Also I like how it's all enclosed as I'm often working in the rain and thinking, "good job my skinth is pretty secure and enclosed, otherwise I'd be worrying about my MT getting soaked.." But I also love the idea of things becoming faster and cheaper. Just my thoughts.

There won't be a gaping hole at the bottom. The coverage is the same on the new design as the original.

I see your has double mag snaps. Must of been an early one! I haven't done that config in a long time.

I believe it's an OG right?

    Smith28 Loaded Pockets

That's good to hear. Today for instance I was working in the pissing rain and at the end I got my Charge out and it had the tiniest amount of condensation on some parts, excellently protected.

Certainly is an OG.. IIRC! I did ask for the double mag snaps because I was worried one would come open too easily, LOVE the double snap, very secure and clips shut perfectly every time! There are certain things I would change if buying again, but man oh man.. it's still the best sheath I've ever used.

Thats good, IIRC, I did a double marker loop and a closed side tube for you right?

I think you'd like the button snaps, they are more secure than the mag snaps, but a whole lot cleaner application. It looks like you got the small batch of the Mag Snaps I found that were low profile, I haven't been able to find those ever since.

Hah spot on, super-dooper memory! One for a spare AA batt, one for a mini sharpie and the closed side tube for a Quark mini AA. I must admit I was drooling a little over a pic you posted with the button snaps, they do look cool. Anything other than the riiiiiiiiiip of velcro for me!
I didn't realise I was lucky enough to get the low profile mag snaps, but I must say, every time I look at it I think how low profile it is. If it helps find them again, here's a piccy with the details on. They're so good, no rust or anything.

Edit - think these are them!

nah, those are the kinds I carry now. I only use mag snaps for the SP, MW and CP models now. Some people where carrying knives on the front panel with the mag snaps and they pulled away from the weight. Main reason why there isn't a 'knife strap' option for the SP, MW and CP models.

Oh cool. Tell me Eric, if you have magnetic snaps on a Skinth you use for a phone, do you risk wiping the memory? Just curious!

There are 1000's of cases with mag snaps, some blackberry's even shut off with specially placed magnets in their factory cases.

There are also many wallet designs with a magnetic money clips.

I suppose so, I've always been neurotic with magnets and digital storage devices, maybe just being silly. :D

Its best to keep magnets away from electronics. If you are sure its safe go ahead, but its better practice to keep your current mind set :D

My current phone carry case has a magnetic closure as well as most that I have owned in the past. I wouldn't worry about it. My phones have never been harmed.

Putting magnets near credit or debit cards is another story though.

metro, I absolutely love the penta pocket on my CP, so if you keep that level of functionality I'm all for any other changes to increase your efficiency. One other little bit of feedback that I've just noticed is that the Skinth with the belt clip slides around on my belt, while some other sheaths seem to grab onto the belt better and not shift. I don't know of any practical solutions or even if it's a concern to you, just thought that I'd share my thoughts.

I forgot about that but you end up making something good even better. I usually end up making something good a bit different and sometimes broken.

Try clipping it into your inner waist band AND the belt.

The belt clips are for 2" belts. I am slowly switching over to 1.75" belt clips, but I have to burn through the 2" ones first.
