Spartan745 posted in the Zulu Nylon Emissary thread that LA Police Gear put the much anticipated Sherman Messenger on their site for pre-order here. I called LAPG and the guy I talked to admitted they may have jumped the gun a little and had no idea when they would be getting any in despite the site saying the backorder is 1-2 weeks. However, a little more searching also found the Sherman in the catalog of Thomas Jacks, a UK-based distributor. Scotts Country, a sporting goods company also in the UK, has it on their site for a whopping $218 USD. I'd say this all points to the Sherman finally being released and likely before the holiday shopping season. I do have an email into Civilian Labs so hopefully they can shed more light on the availability question including when the bag will be offered on Gearbunker. I thought about pulling the trigger on the LAPG pre-order but I think I'm going to wait to see if I can catch one of their 15 or 20% off or free shipping sales before putting mine in. Rest assured, as soon as the Sherman is available, one way or another I will be acquiring one and doing a full review on it (like I did on the Kato earlier this year).
Oh man, I just got my Kato, and now it looks as if I have to get another bag. I hadn't seen the Sherman before, but I really like what I´m seeing now. Curse you Hazard 4 for making great stuff!
The Switchback looks interesting too, though it might be folly to think it would be comfortable, given its size. Either way, I know that the perfect bag is out there somewhere, and I hope to god I never find it.
I couldn't wait. Just placed my order with LA Police Gear despite the 1-2 week backorder notice. Free shipping on orders over $75, which wasn't hard to reach.
Here is some info I got from Civilian Labs on the availability of the Sherman: If and when I hear back from them after they check with the manufacturer then I will pass it along.
Definitely looking forward to the first impression and review. Plan on using it as an EDC bag (obviously) but also as a book bag for school (would like if you can do something like adding textbooks to the bags on top of edc gear)
Looks like they will be available soon (on backorder at la police gear). I look forward to your review. Sent from mobile device. Pardon the brevity.
I'm going to contact Hazard 4 again to see if they will send me a Sherman to review. Stay tuned. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
Has anyone actually got this bag yet? I'm desperate to get one, but was hoping for an informed review by you guys who have had numerous packs before, and could tell me if its worth getting. Also Hazard 4 have been fairly lacklustre on the photos side, having only released a few for their catalogue. More pics would be awesome, especially in EDC use - like in TARFU's awesome reviews.
TARFU! TARFU! TARFU! I'm really diggin this bag, from what little I've seen. But I've decided to be strong, and hold out until I read Tarfu's take. It's the closest thing to reviewing one for myself.
Seen this Tweet from Hazard 4 "We'll be featuring our new products at SHOT Show 2013, including the Sherman™ messenger & Switchback™ sling pack: http://t.co/vnlAMvfF" Hopefully some of you fine chaps from the US will be attending - seen some good YouTube clips from last years. Definitely agree with Gryffin - TARFU reviews are the decider - we're relying on you as chief pack tester.
I'm sad to report that it does not look like I will be doing a review on the Sherman Messenger at this time. Civilian Lab's media department has not responded to repeated emails despite the fact that I provided them the information they requested including a link to the Kato review I had done previously on the forums. I think this is extremely short sighted on their part considering we're in the holiday buying season and with Shot Show coming up. There has been a lot of excitement on EDCF about their new products. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know and especially those who might have been holding off waiting for me to review any of their new stuff.
I hope this is more indicative of a busy / hectic holiday season and prep for Shot Show '13 than some weirdness. They may be getting a lot of interest in the new bag, including various requests for review versions. One would hope that they check and see you're one of the folks who's done great reviews that have had an impact in the relatively small community.
Funny you say that. I just heard from them. Looks like a Sherman review is going happen after all. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
Great Tarfu. On a side note: "@hazard4: Our Hazard 4® Switchback™ Full-Sized Laptop Sling Pack is now available: http://t.co/VYHqavov" - Hazard4 tweet
