If I could, I definitely would! As he adds more stuff, I'm sure it will be easier to find stuff to add.

While I got you on the forum, any plans of making that P-7 in titanium?

Not likely. It just doesn't have the spring temper like spring steel does. So if you were to use a Ti clip on a thick pair of jeans for example, it would be less likely to spring back once removed and may be too loose on other clothing. That depends upon a number of factors of course, but I just don't think we want to pursue it. I think the price would drive off most people and it would be hard to sell enough of them to do a production run. Sorry

You're the pro! That's why I asked. Your answer is good enough for me. And yes, I'm sure you're right about the price. From the reviews I read before I bought it, people seemed to think it was already a little pricey for what it is, but honestly there's not really any competition. Have you read that? Any thoughts?

We thought about MAYBE dropping the MSRP, but the problem is that once you get it out on the market, and you have many resellers, it's hard to control a price reduction. You have dealers who are getting a certain margin, then you pull the rug out from under them and tell them they have to drop the price. Most will not drop the price anyway since they are selling well at the current price. Of course you could phase it in by dropping the wholesale price and coordinating that with a retail price drop, but again, many dealers know that they will get sales at the current price so they figure they can INCREASE their margins. It's not as easy as you would think.

That's the chance we take in trying to set wholesale and MSRP. If we start out high, we may lose sales. Too low and we don't make enough profit. We have a formula that we try and stick to which we believe is fair to both the reseller and the customer based on our manufacturing costs. There is a LOT of thought put into our pricing.

I owned an event videography business for a while and I could have driven myself crazy trying to figure out prices. Then again, it's all labor, so I'm sure it gets even more crazy with what you're describing. Regardless, it sounds like it's working out, so no sense in fixing what's already working. Thanks for taking the time to chat about it!
