That's awesome Brian. What accessories did you order?

I got a Snake charmer (wasabi), Freudian slip, small Travel Stuff Sack (wasabi), an organizer wallet and some straps. And a sternum whistle.

Excellent. I got a Snake Charmer, Packing Cube and Large Clear Organizer all in Steel. I think I'm going to want to get the Travel Tray and possibly the Passport Wallet.

Just curious on how the Smart Alec would work as an EDC bag. I know a review is coming but was hoping for some quick first impressions. I have a macbook retina 15" and a full size ipad along with other sundries that I carry most everywhere.

I need all of it for work but I'm debating on having a weekend back that is trimmed down somewhat. Does anyone else carry a larger bag during the week and use a smaller one on weekends?

BTW the H4 Kato with the Tom Bihn ultimate strap is incredibly comfortable.

Bear, hang tight. I'm putting the finishes touches on the EDC Review as we speak. Should have it posted later tonight. This might be the most picture heavy review I've ever done. Lots to cover when it comes to the accessories and how they can be used in combination with the pack.

Great part 2 - nice to see the details about the bag you already sold me on. ;)

Haha, thanks Brian. I'd be interested in seeing how you load up your Smart Alec.

Arnie, that should be a great combo. I still want to pick up a Snake Charmer. Had an issue with a gift card that Darcy is helping me with.

Big shout out and many thanks to Darcy for posting the review(s) on Tom Bihn's blog, Facebook page, Twitter, etc. Many people who probably don't even frequent the forum are benefiting from the information now and for me that makes the time invested all the more worth it!

TARFU...I noticed that someone on the TB forum referenced your review and stated that the Loaded Pocketz review was the most thorough review he had ever read of the Smart Alec. Great job!

Me too ... especially since I just got a shipping notification from TB. Presumably, it's my Smart Alec - or whatever accessories might be ready.

Again, great reviews. I enjoyed reading them ... and rereading them.

Smart Alec was delivered this evening. At 7:15 pm or so, I had begun to give up hope. I did thank the nice UPS driver - he looked pretty beat.

Inside was my Black / Black / Wasabi Smart Alec, Wasabi Snake Charmer, Freudian Slip, Clear Organizer Wallet, Wasabi sack, sternum whistle, two key straps, ... and my 3 accessory straps. Just the two SA external pouches back/pre-ordered.

It's a very cool bag, to be sure.

I don't think anyone ever answered your question, so I will. I do often carry a smaller bag on the weekend and a larger during the week. Depends on my load-out, but my work laptop is work only ... I don't have a job where I need or want to carry it with me. I'll often down scale from a full messenger bag or whatnot to my Kato for about town.

That said, I got the Smart Alec to handle the full office load, plus have a little more with me for non-office (and use the two straps).
Nice. I'm totally satisfied with just the included H4 Kato strap. Hmmmm.
