Someone stole both my leek and my skeletool off the back of my truck when I turned my back...looking for a cheap replacment for now...I'm looking at the gerber dime.

Any other suggestions besides the squirt?

Open to a small Swiss Army knife too...

I carry a LM P4 and a Vic classic at my keychain - both saved the day soooooooo many times I couldn't count :D

I've got a dime... It's decent but I'm not all that impressed (don't tell my GF that. She got it for my Bday cuz it was in my wish list)

I'm really not all that picky, but...

The blade was as sharp as my finger (sharpened & it's still dull)
Scales rub and score eachother when you open the pliers
One of the scales was loose so I tried tightening it... and promptly snapped the screw.

That said, it's a handy little tool and the bottle opener works pretty well.

I also have the Dime, and love it! It doesnt look look like a multi-tool, its all black and people think its just a bottle opener (it opens bottles well).

The tool I use the most is the Package opener, the scissors are the 2nd think I use the most, sharp and ergonomic to use, the pliers are decent, but wire cutters are quite poor.

    Best of luck!

I would say go for a full size SAK. They feel so much better to use, and makes you feel like your using a real tool, and not doing micro surgery with a small SAK.

If you do go for a SAK tell us the tools you want and we will find the one which fits your needs.

    Small Vic for keychain

Regular Vic for pocket... Can't go wrong w/that!

+1 on a Vic Rambler. Or a full size SAK. LM Micra, Squirt, or maybe something like the sidekick or wingman.

Don't bother with the gerber, you'll only wish you went for the leatherman. Like I did.

I've been happy with the Dime, but if you are replacing a Skeletool the Dime is not what you're looking for size wise. The dime is SMALL.

Perhaps grab a LM wingman/sidekick? As far as SAK, you should have at least 1, 2, 3... er.

You can get about 3 fingers on the Dime if you choke up, I have about Med size hands. I carry the Dime in my jeans "watch" pocket with a Maratac AAA and a mini Bic. You are not going to get near real pliers grip strength with it, it's not going to take it.

Thanks guys. I ended up picking up a Victorinox Huntsman.
