I'm off to NYC in January for three weeks and I'm going to struggle with space in my pack. Has anyone had any experience with any good packing cube or compressible packing cube?

I've been looking on Amazon and the brands that pop up the most are eBags, Samsonite, Travelon, Kiva, Eagle Creek and Rick Steeves. Does anyone have any experience with any of these brands or can recommend better ones that would ship to Australia?

I've got several from Eagle Creek, worked great for me when my family and i went to a trip in HK. Helped in the organization of our clothes. Maybe there are stores in Australia that carry this brand.

Anaconda sell them? I didn't even think of Anaconda! I don't have on near me at the moment but I have two near me when I'm at home! Do you have an online store link?

Hmm-did you look at the Tom Bihn packing cube? Gives you the standard toughness of a Tom Bihn bag, and supports the forum-if you say upon checkout that you heard of the company through the forums, and gives you the option of backpack straps if you want to minimize.

I've used the Eagle Creek ones for years. I've worn out a few, but that took years, (3 - 4) trips a year. It's nice pulling out the next day's outfit without having to dig out the pieces. They're also nice to keep small items together.

I did look at the Tom Bihn but at $20 each they're a bit out of price range at the moment (I need at least two for it to be an effective way of packing if not three). I've got my eyes on a couple of their bags though.

Do you have Kathmandu (name of brand/store) in Australia?
They have lots of good packing cubes - and reasonably cheap...

The Rick Steeves mesh cubes are OK as a cost effective option to organize stuff that you're willing to roll like t-shirts, underwear and socks. I really like the Eagle Creek Pack It Folders for stuff I want less wrinkled like button down shirts, pants, suits, etc. Very space efficient also.

You win at life! Whilst I think I'll get the Eagle Creek ones in the long term I think these ones will do perfectly short-term. Mainly because I can get them delivered to me and they'll be at home when I arrive :D

Mushnz we've got Kathmandu here as well, I'll have to have a look at their website as well!

    Thanks guys

Update: I got the 1.0 packing cube yesterday and the quality is quite good for that price. The nylon is coated on the inside (not the cheap PVC layer) and the stitching is definitely adequate. Lightweight too.
Integrated it into my EDC bag already - I'm keeping all my snacks and hand sanitiser etc. in it.

    I think you'll dig it.

I'd go with the Eagle Creek ones, they seem to have one for everything and every size.

I've been using the Eagle Creek packing cubes for years and they have stood up very well. A year or two ago I picked up some of the eBags copies and they seem to be of similar construction and quality.

Best way to save space is to bundle your clothes. I had a bunch of packing cubes. Now I am down to one small pack that goes in the center of the bundle.
