That's neat! I hope they expand that version for other phone models. I love my commuter series (Motorola Atrix 4G) one.
You are so right when you say hard to tell difference based only on price ... couldn't tell the different (if there was one). The article I cited offered no help in that regard. Basically said what you said, e.g. often difficult to discern authentic from counterfeit, particularly for the average consumer. And if you've never seen a "real" product in person, you have nothing to compare with. Their only advice was to buy from known, authorized retailers. While that's good advice on its face, it limits ability to shop for legitimate bargains. It's a tricky world out there sometimes.
I just signed up to be on the list.... Maybe it will be a waterproof case that doesn't feel like you're typing on an empty water bottle.... <------- LifeProof user....
I wonder if they will use the same fix for the front half of the case on the 4/4s... Maybe I'll give them a ring.. their customer service is top notch..
yeah thats odd that they sealed up a hole on a waterproof case.... come on man, think about it. their trying to make it water/dust proof, why wouldnt they close off that apple logo window?
Not saying i mind (It honestly irks me more that they felt the need to engineer window just for the logo specifically on the other iPhone cases. Are people really that obsessed by the fruit?), tho putting a transparent covering with sealed edges should not be hard. They manage to do that for the front, while retaining touch ability, after all.
The MSRP on this for a Samsung Galaxy SIII is $99.99! I'm sure the price from other resellers will be less, but it better be pretty darn impressive for that price.
"The Armor Series is waterproof for 30 minutes in 6.6 ft. of water, survives 10 ft. drops, allows for zero entry of dust and debris and can withstand two tons of crushing force." Seems pretty darn good to me. funny thing is that Pelican was showing off some phone cases at CES as well. Tho their seems to close up via hex screws or something. http://www.slashgear.com/pelican-offers-protection-for-galaxy-s-iii-with-two-new-cases-11264939/
Had to get a new silicone case for my Defender last month and now a piece broke off of the hard case and the amount of crap that gets in between the case and screen is amazing . I hope the Armor is made of stronger stuff because the Defender hasn't impressed me so far.
I read a lot of the same sentiment when I was looking for a case for my GS3. I ended up going with Urban Armor Gear.
