crap I just picked up the leatherman combo at Sams club and I'm pretty sure I paid $29. And I thought that was a deal.... wish I would have seen them at HD.
Interesting. On WM site as the SOG FastHawk for $24. WM search also returns this SOG. G-10 handle. 420 stainless. 11.1" OAL. $30.
checked out one of thewalmarts today and no kershaw deals. Lots of Gerber ones though . Still have more to try Sent from my rooted Galaxy Tab running ICS
I just picked up the Kershaw Tactical pack at the same wallyworld over on Talbert and Beach. I thought I'd give a quick rundown on whats in it. A Kershaw Brawler. Great knife at this price, it is simple and you can tell it was cheaply made, but it is not a junk drawer knife. Seems like a solid, good size knife you can beat the crap out of and not care because it was $20, but a knife still worth carrying. The packs only seem to have the plain tanto's, no serrated which is fine by me. It does need a set of PB bushings, it is the first Kershaw i have seen that comes with nylons. Feels a little thick compared to my other EDC knives. A flashlight. Seems to be the same as the 9-led free flashlights from harbor freight, but with a non-reflective finish. The one I got was pretty solid, so the QC may be a little better on these than the HF ones. A tactical pen. It is made of two serius chunks of flat black anodized aluminum, and takes standard Parker refills. You turn it to push the tip out. It is the heaviest pen I have ever held, and it dwarfs the F-701 in size. When you turn it, it gives a metal-on-metal squeal to let everyone around know you are about to take writing seriously. It is a bit overbuilt for day to day writing, but if it got run over by a truck you would probably not know it. I also saw the buck bantams in several different camo colors, great price for a USA made knife, and a bunch of Gerber junk. The SOG Hatchets are above the ammo cabinent if you can't find them anywhere else in that particular store.
Which section of Wally do you find all these knives and tools? Holiday bins? Outdoors aisle? Tool aisle? etc, thanks!
I found these in the sporting/camping section. There was a big display of holiday gift sets in the aisle.
OMG i get severe depressions when i hear what walmart has to offer. even though i do not like what they do to the country and their own workers, i really would like to have the opportunity to buy some nice edc_sy-gadgets there *sigh*
Speaking only for myself...the whole Walmart thing is a tale of a love/hate relationship. Based on Walmart's immense buying power...they can offer much lower prices to me as a consumer. I don't have it within my budget to really "ignore" Walmart when we're talking groceries. However when it's possible to buy something somewhere else and not pay a much higher price I will do so. Do I like how they treat their employees ? No. Walmart also have announced or unannounced specials/deals that you won't find anywhere else. (Things that will only be sold at Walmart) Soo..for the average american it's difficult to ignore or avoid Walmart if you will. Is it possible to completely avoid Walmart ?? Yes, but you will pay for it out of your pocket...regardless if you can afford it or not. Just my 2C...
