Fenix LD15 vs. Olight i2

    Hello All,

Looking for a keychain aa light. In my price range, the Fenix LD15 and Olight i2 show good run time and output.

Which is better? Any additional suggestions? Thanks.

I'd go with the olight. You get a decent mid mod, not just high and low. A better (IMHO) emitter, and the ability to use both aa and aaa batteries without an adapter (at least that is the case in it's predesessor the ITP A2). Other options in the AA range, maybe the Thrunite T10? You even get a free aaa Ti with that one.

Thanks enki_ck, the Thrunite combo looks like a great deal. Only thing I'm unsure of is that low (firefly) setting is .9 lumens. Is this even visable?

@yo mama ... the Ti received in the "T-20 + free Ti" deal is 3 lumens low, not the .9 lumens version.

The Ti 60/3 lumen gets the nod for xbanker's "gift shelf" for two-mode 1xAAA. For single-mode, it's the Fenix EO1 purchased from the forum store of course :). Here's group shot for sense of comparative sizes:

(L to R) 4Sevens Q Mini 123, Thrunite T20, Thrunite Ti 60/3 lumen, Fenix EO1, Sunwayman R01A and the venerable, bulletproof (sentimental favorite) ARC-P on keychain.

Have Olight i2 and cannot be happier with it.
Like Enki already said Olight have better LED and is perfectly centered and clean.
Low mode is super useful and with twisty switch its more reliable imho.
Had to try running it with aaa, thank you Enki for idea :)

LD15 is too big to be a keychain light. Might be a battery crusher too.

Right now i edc the Olight i2 i right front pocket and the Olight T25 tactical i my back pocket.
The Olight i2 is my favorite light right now in my collection. No matter what light you get, you have to get the i2. So if you decide to get the ld15 or trunite - get both.
Another thing, i am so :censored: tierd of Fenix quality control, my two last fenix lights both came with off center led's, rings, ugly beam shape - something i have not yet seen on an olight (i just started collecting olight, so maybe it will come one day). for me that is reason enough to buy another olight. The clip on the i2 is so nice. which was why i bought it in the first place. i think every one should start making clones of the i2 clip.. fisher bullet with an olight clip would be the bomb!.
enough bla bla. get the olight i2, you will not regret it.

I remember you have the LD12. Your LD12 have off centered LED?

    thekapow Loaded Pockets

yup (and i have a E21), first i didn't care.. but now i do care alot about it, it is still a great light, the ui is perfect and the clip is deep and nice, but a light should not be able to exit the factory with an off center led, its not hard the check, the guy mounting the head or assembles the electronics, just have to look at it, to see its misplaced. i dont think they would ship out a light with the "Fenix" stamp on an angle or with a missing letter.

Oh! I forgot about the thrunite ti! Planning on getting one-especially since it comes free with the T10-how you likin' the thrunites?

At the recent price points, I think they're a good buy (Thrunite has been pushing recently, through promo you mention and also aggressive standalone pricing). As someone pointed out, the Olight i3 provides a welcome middle-setting (20 lumens) that gives it a leg-up on the Ti, though at higher cost. At promo pricing, the Ti is hard to beat for a 60 lumens/3 lumens AAA light. I've had no reliability issues.

That said, when I want to gift (to a non-EDC'er) a simple, single-level, reliable, bulletproof, inexpensive AAA light, I seem to always fall back to the Fenix EO1 (at the forum store of course :)).

Cool! Thanks for the info! I bought my lady a blue E01 at JSBurly's a few weeks ago! Along with a blue otterbox to house it, and an exotac nanostriker to also go inside! Hehe-love those E01's...
