Dropped by today, They really liked the Challenge Coin. Piched up a little pouch for it witht he Test straps:[IMG]
While I was there, I picked up a case for my tablet, a key strap, and a Stuff Sack (Size 4):

Nice! Which pouch do you have there holding the coin?

They called it a business card holder. It is now my wallet (until the HuMn mini shows up)

Been testing the Accessory strap. I had my doubts about the simple hardware thinking that it wouldn't slip under tight clips or even hang right if it did. Those concerns were unfounded. The strap is an example of K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Stupid) design. Definitely a big thumps up. Here it is tethered to an Ontario RAT1 folder attached to the new Smart Alec.

Does that thing have an adjustable length? Plumba's looks significantly longer than TARFU's.

We're offering an 8" length and a 14" length right now.

Speaking of which: any feedback so far on the lengths? If we added a third length option, what would you want it to be?

I would go for a mid length. The 14 is a little long for my uses and the 8 is just right, but feels short. (My wife has stolen mine already.)

I would like to add that the square ring is great for light clips, but IMO I would get more use from a D ring.

Having not used either length and going from those few shots, I think the lengths look perfect for what each of them is using it for. I'd probably get one of each size when I (eventually, hopefully someday in the future) get one of them fancy backpacks. :) I can't think of a different usable length outside of what I see there. Too short and it wouldn't be nearly as functional, too long it would become unwieldy.

I give my armchair quarterback seal of approval.

In general, I would agree with Quixotica. The 8" length is great for something you intend to tether and then remove for use while the 14" would be better for something you'd rather leave attached to the bag while using.

However, I'm struggling with the second scenario for this particular strap. I ended up attaching a Nite Ize S-Biner to my longer strap also. But, in reality, you could do that with the clips on the standard key straps so the longer length in this case becomes a bit redundant because the clip on the standard strap is more versatile.

I'd also offer the beefier lanyard that you sell with the Guardian Light with the larger hardware. You already make it so why not? It could be used to tether larger EDC items with belt clips (handheld radios, gps, encased smartphones, etc.). You could and maybe should offer a 14" version in that one. Anyway, just a thought.

I gave them a pull test. No worries about catastrophic failure at normal temperatures (40F). I was worried about the ball joint, but the snap hook deformed long before there was a visible change in the ball joint. (It returned to original shape upon release of the tension.)

I applied ~40lb of force to the strap testing it. Far more than you would want to carry with it.

Excellent point: we'll offer both. And everyone's excellent feedback has inspired us to make a third type of strap: stay tuned!

That small pocket thing I got from TB fits my LM Surge, bit extension and bit set PERFECTLY. (And was able to squeeze the coin in there as well.)

I bet a skeletool would fit that pouch pretty nicely, too.

A lot more room in it if you use a skeletool. (Now I am wondering if the Mutt would fit in there like that.)

The O-ring is just large enough to support two accessory straps. Here is a SAK Cybertool 34 on the double-hook accessory strap, and a Foursevens Mini 2AA clipped to the new strap. Both ride in the small accessory pocket at top when not in use.
