All this stuff ships in wooden crates and pallets, and they had to be disassembled to dispose of them. I was working on the paint booth pallets, and most of the shops saws were in use. When I had to charge the Sawzall battery, my Leatherman became my best friend.
I cut through many 2x4's with the woodsaw, pulled countless nails with the pliers, and cut a few 16-penny nails with the wire cutters. Pretty heavy work, especially since these are not dedicated tools, but rather a multi-tool. Most of my other tools I wouldn't use on anything larger than a 1 inch dowel or so, especially not constantly, and I would never cut a 16-penny nail with the wire cutters. This is more than most multitools should take.
And afterwards, I tightened 4 bolts with the pliers, not as abusive, but still pretty heavy use.
When I got home, I closely examined the Leatherman, praying to god I didn't end up killing my $70 investment within a week of buying it.
Other than some very slight dulling on the saw (you can only tell because the edge reflects some light) I have not noticed anything...no heavy wear, no bent tools, no play in the saw blade, anything.
If this thing dies, another SuperTool 300 (maybe 400 by the time it goes :D) will be my replacement. Nothing can live up to this thing, the rest of my multitools are about to start collecting dust :D
