    "grey man" bags...

    lets see some...

    here's mine,
    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...DL._AA300_.jpg

its a pretty nice pack, a little darker IRL than the picture shows. somewhere between olive and dark earthy brown, if you mixed the two together. rugged, flexible and looks good while doin' it.

Gray is a great color for a bag ; Not quite prestigious or pretentious and not really practical for tactical ..
I think it would be cool to see more of the companies like Maxpedition and maybe others to use a 'Dark Gray' material and make some less tactical or more casual looking bags ..
They might do well with it (?) We all know they could afford to take the risk

Oakley has some good looking products but in my experience the zippers and hardware have failed one too many times with hard use (in my experience) ..
    Good thread, Thanks !

I was more talking about the "gray man" as in, non-military looking gear, less the tactical, high speed looking gear, more civvy, average guys. But with the same durability and preparedness...

    Well party on then!

I have only had the pack for little over a month now, but so far its fared well being stuffed with a laptop and all sorts of junk, flew with it round trip, and will again next week. I like that its expandable, can fill up or compress down. Side access to the laptop as well as internal access. Just inside of the flap is another velcro closure flap with some organizers. I wanna get a few maxped packrat or similar touches and organizers for small things (usb drive, cables and charges for phones, etc)

Also very durable bottom with drain holes. When I get time I'm gonna throw together a full review of it for anyone who's looking for a non military style bag.

I am having the same issue. Alot of the packs that would be good for EDC look too tactical. I've had 2 different people comment on the fact that my 5.11 PUSH pack looks like it should have a gun in it. This not something I want to advertise. Unfortunately, in the medium sized southern city I live in, black guys do not carry messenger bags or back packs like they do in New York or LA. Hard to be grey when you don't dress "thug" around here.

Depending on what my role/trip is, I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I carry a Breckenridge messenger bag. I've not had good experiences with support from Franklin Covey, and will say avoid any bag that has wheels or handles of theirs... but this particular messenger bag has gone through a lot, and is still holding up well, and fits a LOT of stuff in it's various compartments and such. Only one zipper in the bag that I dont trust, but it's internal and not essential. The other 3 have held up pretty well. I have loaded this up with as much if not more than my Maxpedition Colossus in the past with good results. Only down side, my shoulder cant support the weight this thing can withstand over time.

I personally do NOT like looking tactical when it's not appropriate. I can get away with some eccentricities since i'm in technology fields, but even then there's limits.
