Small All Around First Aid Kit

I want to build a kit that I can grab and keep in a pack or pocket. I want it to fit into an Otterbox 1000 for:
    • Trips to the beach (hooks, glass, jellyfish)
    • Dayhiking
    • Urban treking
    • Working on the farm
    • Vacation travel
I don't think that I'll rely on it for post apocalyptic stuff. Any opinions or links would be appreciated.

    Recommendations from this thread:

    - ibuprofen, acetaminophen, chewable pepto-bismol, burn cream, assorted bandages
    - individually-wrapped saline solution sterile wipes for wound cleaning
    - small dropper bottle of colloidal silver
    - ibuprofen, bacitracin, hydrocortisone, bandages, alcohol prep pad, immodium, benedryl, zantac, hemcon bandage, tourniquet, kerlix.

how much/what kind of medical training do you have?

is this going to be a "boo-boo kit", or something slightly or more substantial?

I want something that would be more substantial. I have the easy stuff covered already. I have been carrying a "trail first aid kit" since I was in short pants.

The trick is that I need something that will fit into a case that I know I will carry most of the time.

I have nothing of value to add to this discussion, I was just trolling and had to chime in....The above quote cracked me up! A sincere thank you, my night was going pretty crappy and a good laugh and it has started to make the turn.

just go to a drug store, and look at the contents of their first aid kits. trim/supplement as needed.

What do you currently have in your kit?

My 'portable' FAK is housed in similar-size Pelican case. Seems like it's always a work-in-progress ... I recently added some of these individually-wrapped saline solution sterile wipes for wound cleaning (water, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride). Sterile Wipes Saline Solution. I happen to buy mine at local CVS.

For inspiration when first put together, looked over Adventure Medical Kits' various kits here.

Take a look at the AMK Ultralight 0.9

I used to carry a Pelican case with stuff, but it's not really a good idea. The case takes up a lot of space, weighs more than everything in it, can't organize well, and can't expand/contract to fit its contents. Waterproofness isn't really important, nor is impact resistance.

Go with one of the small AMK Ultralights/Watertights or the Adventure ones.

great point. i love my pelican cases. for transporting my (prescription) sunglasses, cigars, electronics, etc
but bandages, and individual-serving medicine aren't that delicate.
