need help with some maintenance for an old leatherman

Hello all. Wondering if I could get some advice on bringing my old Leatherman Tool back to life. I do not know what model it is. It just says LEATHERMAN TOOL and PORTLAND OR on the sides and LEATHERMAN and USA around the pivot point of the pliers. I am guessing I received it back in the 80's as a teen.

Regardless of all that, it has been sitting unused for a long time. Their is a little bit of rust and "junk" around and in the pivot points where the tools reside making them impossible to open without another set of pliers to pull them out. Any suggestions on what to use to clean out and lubricated these areas?

    Thanks for your help.

does it have pins or some type of screws that hold the tools to the handle?

Good question. From the outside it has a round disk like pin. Its about the width of a dime and about a 1/4 inch across. Same on both sides. I think I will need to post a photo which will help explain it better.

Looks very close to yours Boy SureFire. The only differences I see are in the labeling. I am trying to post photos but the Insert Image icon asks me to add photos from a web address. Any way to add from my PC? I must be missing something.

    Thanks

Pics have to be uploaded (to my knowledge) from a photo hosting site like Flikr, PhotoBucket, or Imageshack.

I added the "Boy SureFire" tag onto the handle if that's the difference you're speaking of...
