I think a lot of the stuff that looks to be a weird pink color is actually orange. I think his camera didn't render the colors very well.

His first Plano box has a Mini Maglite - though some would argue that's not a flashlight...

My suggestion would be to look at a different organizational system. The Plano boxes fit, but they really waste some space and, I would imagine, make taking stuff out rather awkward. Maybe a custom homemade liner like some of the pocket-pocket designs could orient your items vertically and allow for easy, one-hand retrieval and replacement. It should also quell any rattle that you are experiencing with the Plano boxes.

    Hi WARFIST,

Although the mini mag is lame out of the package, it is a good light.

This mod, TerraLUX MiniStar2 GREEN LED Kit with 1 Watt LED for MagliteŽ Flashlights - TLE-5 (as low as) $22.45! is available on ebay and other places. It makes the simple 2 AA mini mag into an effective 140 LUMEN mini mag and you wont find a better light for the price of the conversion.

For all of the cost of upgrading the Mini Mag you could just go buy a better light like a Fenix or a 4sevens. The kit, as was shown above, was $22.95 plus another $5 for the clickie, that's almost the price of a Fenix.

Yeah, I know that. But I'm using a TerraLUX conversion in a Gold Mini-Mag. The ability to focus from spot to narrow comes in handy. I've got a Cabelas LED ($12.95 in store only) that does the same thing.

I haven't seen a gold Mini-Mag in a long time, so it's stands out at work.

    Hi WARFIST,

I am not familier with the ruggedness of the tail clickie option, but the TerraLUX conversion in a white led gives you a simple bright 2AA light that is focusable. I know there are inexpensive new led lights that would not be much more, however you already have the Mini mag. Also I am not fond of some of the lights out there that you have to play with to get it to come on in the bright mode, and if you miss the bright mode you have to start over again.

These flashlight companies are losing tons of sales to law enforcement as they as there options are an officer safety hazzard and the police departments know it. When you need to click it on in the bright mode with out failure, you cant be messing with twisting the head back and forth or playing with the buttons over and over again.

I have several lights however I only want the simpleist -brightest ones with the best run times.

5.11 screwed up with their new light BIG TIME. Even though a truck can roll over it, it is polimer not metal with the extra added weight needed for an impact weapon at night on traffic stops. The barrel is just a little too wide for female officers and officers with small hands to get a good purchase on it, and you have to hold the button in to keep the high mode on.

I met a purchasing agent for a large agency that replaces tons of equipment each year at a police expo in West Palm Beach. He not only agreed with me but stated that his agency evaluated the new 5.11 lights and stated that until it is a touch longer, thiner, comes on in the high mode and stay's there and comes in metal, it is a no go for his agency and other agencies that he has spoken to. He stated that he easily could put in an order for (get this) 3000 of their lights right now and when he told 5.11 they never even got back to him. He is staying with mag chargers for now.

That is too bad as the 90 second recharge feature on the 5.11 lights is unbelievable (it has no batteries just super capacitors).

yeah i was looking at those myself as i am a 5.11 fan and there magazine comes in the mail for me! i agree that 90 second charge is unbeatable... i may get a set of the two victorinox led mini mag style lights at target for 30-40 bucks....there led and you get 2 of them so could work wonders for me and my kit and i could kick the mini mag to the glove box!
