I was just wondering, Is the Maratac Zulu band workable with every watch?

For the most part, yes. Just be sure to measure which width you would need. Generally 18mm, 20 mm, or 22mm.

You take off your old band, then reinsert your spring bars. Then slide on the Maratec band.

As far as I know, the watch case would need two things to work with alternate bands such as Maratac's. First, the lugs need to match the size of the band width (or vice versa), though a band narrower than the lugs would technically work but would be ill-fitting. And the original watch band needs to designed to be able to be removed. Some metal bracelet watches have what I believe are called integrated bands which means that the band is not removable. Watches that come stock with leather or fabric bands (with the lugs exposed) are more likely to have removable lugs/bands, though most high-end metal banded watches also have non-integrated band attachments.

I believe that a Zulu band works with just about any watch thats strap is held in place by pins.

As long as the width of the band at the point where the pins go through matches the width of the Zulu strap that you purchase...

i've also seen people "notch" and melt a Zulu at the lugs so that they could put a 22mm band on a watch w/ 20mm lugs. most notably the Seiko Monster.

Beware, some companies use integral lugs with the band, that do not allow for band swapping. one example that comes to mind is Oris:

You need to buy adapters to fit a Zulu band on a G-Shock. CountyComm or others sell the adapters - but only in black, I believe.

Anybody know where to get a Zulu-style band that will fit 14 mm lugs? I have a Casio solar atomic Baby-G in the smaller size, but nobody seems to make Zulu-style bands for it.

i'd say you'd have to notch an 18mm to fit.
