How about a pocket dump thread for me? I'll just show off here, I guess. Comments/Concerns are welcome.

    Pretty much my standard carry.

    Knives:
-Murray Carter Hand Forged neck knife - Super Blue Steel/Japanese Stainless steel laminated construction with maroon micarta handles, yellow liners.
    -BM 558 Ritter Mini-RSK M4 #132/240
    Wallet:
    -Tumi
    Pens:
    -Fisher Chrome/Black Matte
    -Cross Chrome - todays other
    Flashlight:
    -E1B w/ Z68 tailcap
    Watch:
    -LÜM-TEC M19 #38/150
    Handgun:
-G19 RTF w/ Meprolight night sights staggered FMJ/HPJ
    Misc:
    -keys
    -lighter

...and of course some days I carry other items so this is just for todays.

I cycle everywhere. Usually 125mi. a week, so I carry around everything in a bag, mostly. Even then my carry is pretty low compared to others here. I usually carry this Chrome Messenger bag, it's pretty great for what I need it for. I bring a change of clothes always, but usually it's just for work - I iron and fold things very carefully so they don't wrinkle!

I'll post a couple for you - a lot is on my Flickr, too.

on 2/02/2010 - day 1! Love at first sight? Yup.

on 4/23/10 - This was the first time I sharpened this knife myself. You can see that in the middle there is still a slight nick in the blade. I was so afraid I was going to eff is all up and ruin my favorite knife, but I did pretty good.

on 5/26/2010 - I got some rust on the blade after some ice tea spilled into my back pocket/kydex sheath. I took off the rust as well as the patina. I re-applied the patina with vinegar, as demonstrated.

on 7/16/2010 -and this is it's current state. Pretty much the best money I ever spent.

...I think that's enough. Hope you liked the pictures! Maybe tomorrow I'll take out the other:

edit - this photo is better. The somber legal defense fund - thanks for your worry, chrisemt.

Nice pics and nice gear as well. I love the E1B with the Z68. I have a few Surefires but I think I need one of those!

I've got an idea-an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about.

Nice setup. Why do you have "staggered" FMJ/JHP in your 19? Whomever is standing behind the BG you shoot with the FMJ isn't gonna be to happy with you especially if they're a GG.

As a gun owner I think that in a bad situation it will not always go my way. All the variables are simply not known, you can only plan on what variables you do know... I wouldn't be too happy if the 'BG' were standing behind a car door shooting at me otherwise, too. But I do hope that if someone is shooting, or if there is a situation where I need to draw my gun and shoot, hopefully the people in the background have already realized what sort of situation it is and have left or something...

Not to be a total d#@k but that is some of the worst mindset I have ever heard. You need to spend more time/money on training. As a gun owner" you need to think that the bystanders were just going about their buisness until somebody decided to pose a threat to your life causing you to defend yourself with lethal force. The BG put YOU in that situation. By hoping the bystanders "do the right thing" during YOUR emergency is not going to happen. By drawing your weapon YOU are now putting them in your situation the same way the BG put you in your situation. Change your midset and tactics or you will find yourself selling that beautiful knife for legal fees.

Thanks, I'll take your advice into consideration. Have a good day.

edit: Nah... that's pretty crass. Sorry, to assume that in my situation that staggering HP/FMJ is a detriment is applying a belief of a perfect situation happening in the first place. A FMJ could go through a 'BG' just the same and hit a innocent bystander, just as much as I could miss my shot, it bounces off a rock and finds itself in the house of a 22-year old mother and her baby's room. Is this perfect situation day or are we thinking realistically today?
