    What's next for you?

I have three more "kits" to build and as you all know the basis of any good kit is a good bag.

    And so I need:

    1) Fishing bag. I am getting a thermite to use as a minimalist fishing setup. I just want something that is small as I don't carry much tackle when I go out and I like to stay mobile.

    2) Laptop bag. Thinking County Comm Bail out Bag

    3) Three day pack for three day retreats in the North Woods. No idea.

What are you guys looking for?

I've been using an old ALICE pack for My BOB. I badly need to get a new pack. I had shoulder surgery and can't handle much pressure on my left side...those old straps are killers. I'm thinking maybe a 5.11 Rush 24 might not be so bad since they use the yoke straps and are much better padded. I can try putting some weight in one and wearing it at my local Maxped Dealer. If it doesn't work well enough, I guess I'll have to do the best I can with a Condor Sling Pack.

After that I need to do as Heavy Hog is doing and make up a fishing kit. I was thinking about using a Proteus clone that I have. I've been using it as a leatherworking kit, but it's really too small for that but should hold all I'd need for fishing. Although as HH pointed out. A Thermite would be just about the right size too.

I'm really not sure what I'll work on after that. I'm hoping in the next month or so to have a new vehicle...a Ford Explorer, so then I'd be working on a kit for my vehicle.

I have one of these on the way in coyote. Will try and post pics later this week when it comes in.

Also, as far as backpacks go, I got one of these when I was in Iraq ($30 at the PX, it was a steal when I got it & years ago!).

Mine is black, wish the tan one was available then. Will also try to get some pics of this. I use this as my main camping backpack, it is normally filled with my simple bushcraft gear, just add clothing. It is sturdy, well built pack with some decent organization. Also, it has a lightweight internal "frame" that helps support a heavier load.

I'm looking at a Maxpedition FR-1 to add to my Falcon II. I'm thinking about using it as a toolkit but I'm worried about the added bulk that comes from the maxpedition pouches. They're excellent quality, but they add considerable size and weight to your EDC system. It's always a trade-off...

I'm toying with the idea of one of these; http://www.mysteryranch.com/s.nl/it....=11&category=6 as a cycling/EDC/day pack/E&E substitute. I have an almost overwhelming urge to get it in pink though, and SWMBO isn't too keen on the idea. Especially as I only got a new bag three days ago!

I know what you mean Mike, I'm the same with the regular Express - no need for it, can't justify it and I know deep down that it probably wouldn't work for me really. But I want one!

LOL......I'm about half way to justifying it to myself,so I figure I'll have one on order by the end of October. ;-)
